Hench they rape us on cost on a daily basis.

Not quite the terminology I'd use. If anything, I'd call the price differential between propecia and proscar an idiot tax.

I completely agree about the whole once-a-day pill thing..... as Chris Rock put it, "the money's in the medicine". Drug companys don't want permanent cures, they want dose dependent drugs, preferably of the once-a-day kind. Natural cures are the drug company's worst enemy and I know that the fda does their best to rid the market of such things.

However, I can understand why drug company's would take advantage of us like that considering the high cost of research that goes into developing new products. This problem has more to do with the flaws of capitalism than the harsh practices of drug companies alone.

So for now we just got to live with the fact that drug company's are screwing us over and that we'll never see a "miracle cure" in the mainstream market.

the flaws of capitalism? now if we were going to go into that, you silly socialists would have to start a whole new thread so i had room to smack down your silly unrealistic socialist idealism.

Whoa, slow down there..... I never said I was a socialist. Every system has it's flaws and this is just one of the flaws of capitalism. Trust me, I'm not taking sides on the whole capitalist/socialist debate.

The creator of this thread brought up the idea of drug companies exploiting and using certain practices to deceive the masses. So I was merely stating that as long as we're living in this kind of economy, there's nothing that's going to change this.

If the FDA acts against natural treatments it's because they don't bloody work. These boards are a testament to that. I challenge you to find me a single person who's had success with an entirely natural regimen.

And making drugs is just expensive. Capitalism has nothing to do with this. It just happens to be that the system of letting individual firms respond to consumer demands is deemed better than letting the state get its mucky paws all over the sensitive project.

The world is not owed to any of us on a plate. There is no natural injustice implied in not being able to afford haircare products. It just means you need to work harder.

Before I go any further, I'd like to again state that I'm not advocating socialism one bit....

Anyways, since we live in a free enterprise economy that forbids the government from interference (for the most part), companys can do almost anything they please in order to make a profit. And this includes lying and deceiving..... Not saying I would want the government to control the economy, just stating that it's inevitable that most companies will exploit this aspect. But again, I completely understand from the drug companies position though because it does cost a lot to do the research in making these drugs.... I just think that many of us need to keep in mind that these companies are only in it for profit, so there's a VERY good chance that there's a more effecient and cost effective way to fight baldness that they're hiding from us.

And about the FDA, I suggest you do some research on them.... they're not as pleasant as they may seem.

On neutral cases, the FDA play a fair game.

In cases where one party share the same interest with anyone and or any body affiliated with the FDA, the game is biased.

Challenge to find an all natural regimen? No worries. My best mate Kal. He uses tea tree oil mixed with nettle root and takes L Cart supplements daily. He went from NW2... to NW2 in 14 years. Yes he has kept all his hair for 14 years.

kalbo - you think drug companies are hiding more effective treatments from us? it is capitalism that would stop this happening. The drug companies compete against each other you realise, and if another company had a more effective treatment than finasteride they would bring it out and steal merck profits. its quite simple really, yes they are all in it for the profit and thats why the best products will always come to the market, to beat out the other companies. thats also why a company wouldnt sit on a better product, because then someone else would come out with it first.

haircoverage - first provide some evidence for your claims as to the fda. second, if you believe your friends natural regime to be so effective then why is it that you are using minoxidil and nizoral? as to your friend, many men have a hairline which recedes to about norwood 2 and stays there for life. he may have been slopping tea tree oil on his head for absolutely no reason these past 14 years.

First of all, I don't want this to turn into a political debate, so I'll leave the whole capitalism talk out....

So do I think drug companies (or the fda) are hiding more effective treatment from us? In a word, yes.... I can't say that all of them do, but for the most part, a lot of them are hiding such things. And when I say they're hiding "treatments", I don't necessarily mean "medical treatments".... I was moreso implying natural treatments.

Take for example COX-2 inhibitors (treatment for arthritis pains). There are numerous natural treatments that work much better than this drug without all it's side effects (it's reported that it led to over 50,000 deaths in the US), but we hear very little of such treatments... why? Because most of us only care about treatments that are "scientifically proven" or "fda approved". The problem is companies aren't going to do research on something they can't profit from, so these things never end up being officially researched.

And I know you were directing the question to haircoverage, but if you want some evidence of the claims regarding the fda, well here's a link I just found:
http://www.cancertutor.com/WarBetween/War_Fda.htm
I admit, I haven't read the whole thing b/c it's getting kinda late.... but I assume that it gives some insight to how the fda really works.

why on earth do you expect drug companies to research things which won't profit them in any way? what possible reason could they have to spend money which won't make them money. would you expect this of any other industry?

but as to the arthritis thing, the problem you have there is that you can't possibly prove that your natural cure works better than the pharma developed one, for the reasons you stated in your previous post. so how can you then state with such authority that said natural treatments do in fact work better?

and the url you just posted? in the first two paragraphs it loses all credibility. the fda will test any product that a manufacturer has as long as they are willing to pay the massive price of conducting such testing. it doesnt "refuse" to test naturals, just noones going to bother paying for it.

i also did not have the energy to read it all but if it continues as it begun then its simply unsubstantiated conspiracy theories.

Well it's obvious that you won't budge on your opinions in this matter so I won't go on any further.....

However I will end off by saying that our system is set up so that drugs will always be the primary choice for treatments, while natural treatments will always be brushed aside for not being "scientifically proven".... do the research yourself if you don't believe me..... and if you don't wanna do the research and just call me a conspiracy-theory-***-clown, then that's fine by me too.... i'm out....

This thread is about a plant south of Damascus wich can be a baldnes cure for decades for the one who uses it on the scalp..

"The plant is mashed into a creamy liquid and placed once on the scalp. The follicle absorbs, and this plant or cure sticks to the receptor sites on your hairs, and stays there for decades, blocking all immune-rejections and DHT attacks. Its the only plant that stays locked onto your receptors"

TruthSmoker think that it maybe can be located in Hauran.
So lets find out how many miracle plants that can be in this region!!
This is a dessert land isnt it so it cant be so many plant in a small region that has such a great history as a medicine for hairloss..
