So ive been fighting hairloss for about 6 months now and was on propecia 0.5mg everyday for abiut 2 months ans i stopped gor about 2 months but have started again about a week ago. I decided to try the pull test on my hairline and i literally lost over one hundred hairs on my temple by pulljng moderately hard. I literally cant believe how much came out with each pull. Could starting propecia again cause this or am i just losing hair at an unbelievable rate? Im currently 18 and at this rate ill probably be a norwood 7 by 20

Starting and stopping any hairloss medication can cause a shed.

If you are on finasteride now, it should be halting the progression or slowing it down. So the hairs you are losing should grow back, and hopefully thicker. Just don't keep starting and stopping it, stay consistent.

I know it can be hard to chill, I find myself pulling my shedding hairs out in despair too. You have to force yourself to stop or you'll go into a bad depression.

Right now you're on the best thing you can be. You're taking something that will halt the hairloss, so your hair will grow back. Just calm down, breathe, relax. Be patient. Get a short haircut for now too, you will think less about it.

Also is there any reason you can't take 1mg? Not sure of your situation but 1mg might be more effective.

But other than that stop worrying. You're doing the best you can right now for treatment so there is nothing more you can do. Pulling your hair out is not gonna help anything.
