hey guys..just a quick question...I buzz my head with a 0 guard due to hairloss and am pale. I bought some moisturizer/tanning stuff for my face and it works to give a bit of colour...but since you can see my scalp the colour difference is apparent. I was just wondering if I could put a bit of the stuff on my head or do you think it would kill off some of the already thin hair follicles? Not really sure what to do, because I hate being so pale, but don't want an off colour scalp...but definitely don't want to lose more of the hair I do have...any advice?

thanks a lot

I'm sure if it was a problem there would be a warning on the bottle not to put on sensitive areas of skin.

I have been looking into this before and never really found out anything. Some ingredients in facial moisturizer have a bad effect on hair. And on some tanning lotion it says that one should not use it close to hair. After what I read it's two different start points.

1- if you are bald and shave, and not looking for maintenance or regrowth- use what ever that makes you skin to feel good.
2- if you have hair and are buzzing or shaving and want to keep what you got, one need some good moisturizer that don't have any hair harming ingredients.

hmm, thanks for the input...I dunno, it says nothing bad on the bottle and it does say you can apply it to your whole body...where there is obviously hair. And unlike another bronzer I used which said use after shaving, it doesnt say that on this product...it only says to use after a shower. I guess I could put it on, wait a bit..and then wash my hair with nizoral or some other shampoo? Anybody got any more thoughts? Cuz this stuff really does work pretty well, and I'd prbly only need to apply it sporadically to my head just so the colour isnt totally different to my face.

But yeah..I definitely wanna maitain what little hairs I do have so I don't have to razor it constantly....

qball01, I would recommend that you email a few docs and ask for their opinion since I have really not found anything when I googled for 15minutes now. I know some ingredients have been said to be bad for hair when used topically, one is vitamin a, but after googling I really haven't found an answer.

You could send a mail to these knowledgeable docs:

Dr. Proctor - [email protected]
Dr. Lee - [email protected] (ask for dr lee)
Dr. Jerry Cooley - [email protected]
Dr. Robert Jones - [email protected]

These are moisturizers that I have found recommended for shaved heads:
- http://www.mdskincare.com/productingred ... U=MD041935
- http://baldguyz.com/products/prdmoisturegel/

The last one seem to have a lot of good ingredients.

Hope you get some answers, since I guess a lot of people want to test the shaved look this summer, but don't want to harm the hair they got.

You put this stuff on your face, and you have hair on your face or chest, personally i think your making a meal of it, just slap it on your head man
