Question about shedd on propecia

this is my 10th day on propecia and I have never in my life shedded this much, I went from 100 hairs per day to about 250-300. Has anybody out there had this much shedd withing such a short period of time? I could really use some examples, it's really hard to continue with something while you see the damage it's doing. I really don't know if it's part of the process.

one more question, I'm using 1% nizoral shampoo and still see some dandruff and oily scalp? How long does nizoral take to work and is the 1% enough if I'm not using minoxidil? thank you in advance

I don't think I've ever lost as many hairs per day as that, but I was starting fre pretty much none, so I think that the hairs that I could see were already fairly strong.

It's my understanding (Correct me if I'm wrong someone) that hairs which fall out during a shed will usually grow back stronger and thicker, BUT, don't expect to see these *new* hairs for quite some months.

martin, you may be exper. a telogen effluvium. very few people shed that much hair per day, but i have, although ive been on finasteride for 5 months. I would stay on finasteride til you go to a dermatologist ask some questions.

If male pattern baldness is the result of the follicle miniturization process then the only concern over any hairs falling out should be over the ones that are very fine and light in color which indicates that that particular follicle is in the miniturization process, right? The hairs that are shed that are dark and thick and sturdy are of no concern because the follicles they came from are clearly not undergoing miniturization--am I not correct?

The hair will grow finer in the next hair cycle. This cycle is shortened when you have male pattern baldness.

Yeah, but even the non-male pattern baldness affected hairs fall out at some point. I was thinking that sheds happen sometimes that are just that-sheds, with no negative result on the hair follicle.
