hey. im currently on generic finasteride..fincar. I would rather just get a script from my Doctor for proscar so i can get it quicker and so i kno its legit. My question is how many of you were able to get your Doctor to do it. My last Doctor said the practise did not believe in its safety and so i left empty handed. I moved and have a new Doctor now so is it worth trying agen..How did you ask and is it harder to get proscar than propecia? Was my old Doctor a one off or do alot of docs decline this? thanks

Get it from Dr. Ashcroft. you don't need a prescription - it's legit, generic Finasteride.

He sends it to you - £100 for about 1.5 year's supply.

so i ring from anywhere in the UK, to a Doctor that doesnt know me or my history and ask for proscar and he will post it to me?? This sounds dodgey for a Doctor. Surely he would be struck off for pedelling.

And surely if this works he is swamped with requests for it?? How do you pay him??

I used a bank transfer. I don't think he profits from it - it's the same as your own GP prescribing it to you. He's genuine - you can look him up on the medical register. most people at Stophairlossnow.com forum use him. he's Spex's GP

Guys, I'm really sorry to bump this old thread, but can someone explain the Dr Ashcroft situation to me please?

Is he willingly given out these prescriptions, or has someone randomly just advertised his services for him and he feels obliged?

Also, anyone that's spoke to him; when's a good time to call? I'm at work Mon-Fri, but don't really know if it'll be a bit intrusive to phone on an evening (especially a Friday!) or a weekend.

Any recommendations please? I've finally decided that despite the side effects and warnings, I need to do something.

Thanks

I have used DR Ashcroft twice now. I paid him via bank transfer, no problems. He is a legit guy and has been on the meds himself for a number of years apparently so can tell you all you need to know about finasteride.

I called him early morning, mid week, maybe 8 AM and he was fine, in fact I think he may have suggested that time. I dont want to post his email address in a forum but I think it is on the website somebody posted a link to.

I can understand what you are saying about whether this service is legitimate or even legal? I must admit even my own GP raised his eyebrows when I told him where I gott he prescription. However, DR Ashcroft does ask for your GP's name and writes a letter to him/her to advise of his prescription.

Give him a call mate, he is a genuine guy.

but is it any different to your own GP prescribing it to you? The difference is that some GPs don't have much knowledge about hairloss and won't prescribe finasteride because it's supposed to be for BPH. They will prescribe Propecia though which will cost you a lot more.

Dr. A allows you to take genuine finasteride at a greatly reduced price - he's not a dodgy internet pharamcy, he doesn't make any money from prescribing it to people.

Many thanks guys - I wasn't really questioning his legitimacy as such (although I do very much appreciate your reassurances) but more I don't want to put him out by phoning him.

Is there any other time you'd recommend? I'm pretty much at work from 8-5 every week day by the time I allow for commuting - I'd definitely like to avoid ringing him when he's gonna be busy, like now, or on the weekend too...

Edit: Maybe I should just call him and ask when's a good time to chat? heh

Nah I spoke to him last week and he only sells 5mg which is a bit annoying. Interestingly he told me a lot of people cut the pill into halves and take it every other day. Think I might do that if I switch to proscar as chopping it into quarters sounds annoying.

Quick bump please, anyone know the guy and when I should ring, that isn't 8-5?

Copied and pasted from the email he sent me:

"weekends are fine, or late afternoons..6pm ish. "

So evenings and weekends basically.

Just phoned him, what a thoroughly nice guy! I was really anxious/nervous before (and about calling him...), but he certainly helped ease any worries I might of had.

Thanks for putting me onto him guys.
