These last few months I've been wondering mainly why I live in a capital city, in an urban area. I work from home but I chose a big city to better enjoy my youth.
A few years ago it seemed like a good idea; I was young, earning solid money, so the best thing to do was to live close to the action, where parties are, where girls walk around and do shopping. It's also a big advantage when you meet a girl, you can easily bring her home since your house is close to the pub/bar/whatever. Organizing parties at home, or cooking for your date also work better when you live in the middle of the city.
Now, it looks like I'm not young anymore, thanks to this curse called baldness. I barely go to parties or nightclubs now, and of course I haven't brought home a girl in a couple of years. So I'm wondering, why do I live in the city? Why spend so much more money when clearly I can't take advantage of living in the city? Why don't I just move to a cheap, barely populated town? Or to an island? Or maybe to a rural town in the Himalayas where I can get by with just a couple hundred dollars every month? Old people have a tendency of moving to cheap towns, and I think the reasons why they do it are similar to mine.
Do you ever ask yourself these questions? Am I just going crazy already? Or maybe it's just the normal behavior of walking away from a place where you feel rejected?
