Questions For Those Who Have Stopped finasteride

I was taking finasteride for 3.5 years at varying doses during my time, but for the most part, I was taking 1mg. a day. I recently stopped finasteride and have been off it for about 4 months. While I was on it, I had low libido, inconsistent erections, and mental fog. I was unaware of how bad the mental sides were until I got off. I did not intend to be off it this long as I was stopping to add a new medication (unrelated to hair loss) and my Dr. wanted me to have the finasteride out of my system. For those that had successfully stopped, any advice on how to get libido and sex drive back? I was hoping to feel better by now and my original plan was to go back on a
lower dosage but don't want to do that until I know everything is better. My hair is thinned a lot but I can most likely still save it.

I'm on a multi-vitamin now but that's it. Any suggestions or experiences in how long I can expect to recover would be greatly appreciated.

I was in the same position as you, was using finasteride and it was working but stopped due to me losing my meds while I was abroad, felt great for a couple of weeks had a crash after couple of weeks with brain fog and low libido. For me going to the gym and doing high intensity workouts, helped in boosting my testosterone. But the big thing is to just try and be healthy and you wouldn't believe how your body regenerates itself.
I know what its like when you cant see the end of the tunnel and think maybe it's just what you have to get used to but it just takes time to sort your hormones balance out.

Lost number of the reports i have seen stating the same thing. Statement that clearly shows the "luck" of this uncertainty around the sides of the drug and the hardness of people being able to prove that it's the drug causing them. It's unbelievable how "well" it's made, what unknown and not well understood parts of the body it affects and that without expensive, detailed and long time consuming analysis of patients before and after treatments with in depth studies and tests on them, it's almost impossible to prove it's from the drug or not.

I hope you get better, i think that your body just needs time to achieve homeostasis again.
