I went to the grocery store and purchased nizoral 2 weeks ago. I didnt realize that it was only 1% until today. Is 2% the common shampoo to use amongst male pattern baldness'ers? I am on 2nd month of treatment for long time diffuse thinning. Can i find nizoral 2% at the grocery store or do I need a prescription? Thanks and great forum!

1% works the exact same as 2%. In America, you need a prescription to get 2%. Some people on this site get 2% without a prescription by ordering it online through a Canadian drug store. However, 1% works just as well, plus it's cheaper and much easier to buy, so stick with it.

One study showed the 1% worked aswell as the 2% although I like to use the 2% to be on the safe side since generally speaking most drugs are more effective at higher doses.
Just use up your 1% and then buy 2% next time if it worries you.
Don't know where you are located but in the UK you don't need a prescription for the 2%, you can buy it in Boots or Sainsburys.
