I want to make a 5% spironolactone lotion.. so I want to know what should I use.. 100% ethanol, or 20% propileno glycol, glycerin.. what's the ingredients for a good spironolactone solution?
ps: it's the drugstore that is going to make it, not me..
For me the strong alcohols can cause some serious irritation (I use several topicals, so less alcohol based topicals the better)
I made my own spironolactone using dermovan cream, spironolactone, organic aloe vera, and vitiamin E. Really helps with irritations, but is a lot harder in terms of application.
I beleive there is a user on here using everclear (200 proof alcohol) and he said it seems to be working fine. Can't remember his username
i was thinking about 70ml of ethanol, 30ml of propyleno glycol, wich gives me 100ml of liquid.. then, i put 5 or 6 grams of spironolactone in it.. opinions?
from what i remember from bryan's posts and dr lee's website, with the alcohol version it can only dissolve up to 2% for spironolactone. Any higher concentration of spironolactone would be a waste as the enthnol wont dissolve it.
