quitting minoxidil advice

hi guys , ive been on propecia for 20 month , then 4 month ago ive added minoxidil just on my hairline .

However things are really worse than before . So i want to quit the minoxidil , will i experience a crazy shed , did the minoxidil make my healthy hair dependant ? plz help me .

you will go back to where you were before. This temporary worsening is not permanent if it is a result of the minoxidil (which it certainly might be) it is only temporary whether you stay on it or not

Starting minoxidil sometimes induces a shed when you start. But four months is a little long for an initial shed to last

Sorry to be selfish...
But, what do you think about quitting after approx. 3 weeks, in the middle of the shedding. Could this be really harmless?
It is annoying that no one really knows, some says that - it is, but to others it could be catastrophic and waste a hair cycle or hairs may never regrowth ("hair suicide")...

(I loose a LOT of hairs due to minoxidil shedding but that is not the reason I want to stop)

ok guys, the thing is that ive been too greedy with minoxidil .

Before adding min , i was on propecia for 19 month , so my follcile were protected against dht .
But i wanted more hair , so ive added minoxidil on the temple to recover my Norwood 1 hairline .

I got a small shed with minoxidil which lasted maybe 1 week . But i didnt lose thousand of hair .

Now i wash my hair every 3 days and i lose maybe 6 hairs per shower , so my hairloss is really slow .

But the minoxidil is a pain in the *** to apply . SO my question is if i stop minoxidil despite being on finasteride for so long , will i drop below baseline , will i lost my finasteride gains ? that would be crazy .

If i hadnt been on propecia before i could understand the drop below baseline , but i took propecia long before minoxidil . So plz ZZZ answer me , you know your topic . And sorry for my bad english

Sorry for somewhat off topic question, but for some reason this website doesn't allow me to post my own thread yet.

I'm using Minoxidil 5% lotion (same as Rogaine?) 2x a day. I normally shampoo my hair every other day. And now 4 applications of the lotion before shampooing makes my hair quite a mess.
Would it be ok to shampoo every day? Or is just rinsing it every evening and then applying the minoxidil lotion would be good too?

My only advice is, don't quit. Minoxidil does not make your hair worse. If you keep using it, you will get regrowth. All your shedding is just a sign that it's working.

No I'm quite ready for a period of shedding. 'am not too worried about that.
I just don't know if 4 application of the lotion on top of each other is doing any good--
Rinsing it just with water will make it even fattier and more of a mess.

If you drop minoxidil you just lose those hairs. The propecia should maintain the rest of it. How exactly it will all play out is beyond anyone guess everyone react different
