Anyone quit minoxidil and return to baseline?

I've been using minoxidil for about five to six months just on the left side of my hairline/temple area. I've only shed some from this and have had any significant regrowth other than peach fuzz. I've been using minoxidil once a day. I decided to quit because it was really irritating my scalp. I've tried the liquid and the foam version of the brand Rogaine. I'd rather shave my head than return to using this crap because it makes my scalp itch badly where I applied it and it really dried out my skin there and turned it red. I'm definitely allergic to this stuff.

I've found the lotion from Murray Avenue Apothecary to be much kinder to the scalp.

I've been using minoxidil crap for 6 months. It's just been a hassle and has only made matters worse. I don't want to buy anymore things. In the end I don't want to hold on to thin spots that are an inch long by applying chemicals to my head. I think if you're a man losing your hair there comes a time to just buzz it which I've been doing. I was just wondering if the shedding will slow down so my left side isn't way more offset than the right side. A word of advice: Don't get on Rogaine and just stay in shape and buzz your head!

Apply minoxidil for 5 hours max then remove with the shower head with just cold water. If you let it gunk it up on your scalp for hours on end it will itch, the dried minoxidil flakes will be very hard to remove.

These forums are ridiculous. I asked how long after quitting minoxidil will/if I will return to baseline. I don't want to use minoxidil because I'm not responding to it and I've tried applying it for a couple hours then washing it off. It still hurt my scalp and I don't get positive results. I just get dermatitis and shedding. So has anyone had experience quitting minoxidil and returning to baseline or know anyone? I feel like these forums everyone is trying to sell you on a product.

You will lose more hair, what else is there to know? If you didn't respond to it how do you think you'll somehow go back to "baseline"? Minoxidil doesn't address the androgenic aspect of male pattern baldness, your baseline is gone.

That's right.

I used Minoxidil at 2% then 5% for many years and quit because I questioned it's effectiveness and just got tired of the hassle. So how long to return to baseline? Probably about a year it will be noticeable then you will progress right through it slowly year by year until you reach whatever genetic male pattern baldness destiny you have.

@frankhoffa

any updates bro?

Expect to shed and go below baseline for a few months and return to baseline 6 or 7 from what i have read, i assume you are taking an AA aswell. I just stopped recently so maybe my experience will be different.
