Hello all. I want to know if there's anyone here that experienced shedding on minoxidil when they are deep into treatment. I started applying minoxidil once a day starting late 2013, so just over 2 years. Although it did not regrow any hair to the best of my knowledge, it in combination with finasteride has helped me to maintain/slow down my hairloss. However, in the recent months i've noticed more itching in the areas that i apply minoxidil to (frontal, temples, and hairline), especially when the scalp is exposed to warmer temperatures such as hot water showers and hair dryers, and more shedding as a result. I find it odd that the areas that i am applying minoxidil to is losing hair faster than none minoxidil applied areas. I did not have an initial shed on minoxidil like some others have reported, could this be a delayed onset to the first shed? Or is this simply hair loss progressing and the hairs lost on my hairline + temples are all but gone? :( Any tips and pointers are greatly appreciated!

Do you use liquid? I was about 4-5 months into treating my hair loss and my results were quite good..... then my scalp started to burn, itch and shed like crazy. I thought hmm maybe a shed but it didn't seem like it I was losing hair too fast. Then I researched and found found out about propylene glycol sensitivity. I realized I might not be shedding, my scalp may just be inflamed. I switched to foam rogaine and my sheds decreased immediately. I still shed 15-20 hairs a shower but not the 30-50 minimum I was before.
