Like so many of you, my hair loss started when I was 16, 17 years old. When I started University however, it really kicked in majorly. Every day I could visibly see more and more recession/thinning.

So then I turned to these boards. I found out about finasteride, minoxidil + Nizoral, and started on them with a vengeance.

What a difference they made!!! :woot:

I went from a thinning

to a slightly thicker

then after another year, with the right light conditions, if you didn't look closely, it almost looked i didn't have hair loss:

HOWEVER, then I did something stupid. :shakehead:

I stopped. :shakehead: :shakehead: :sobbing:

I started working full time, I moved in with my girlfriend, and I stopped all the meds.

For 2 years I haven't taken any finasteride, min, anything.

And in those two years, my hair has COLLAPSED, to a Norwood 3, 3.5 stage.

My mission gentlemen is to get back to the stage i was a couple of years go.

On another note, it's good to see all the old regulars still here, (Cassin, Gardener, etc) although I do miss Gunners tales unk:

I apologise, I haven't got any pictures of myself at the moment.

My situtation is worse than is ever was, simply because I stopped taking the meds for so long. I feel such a idiot!!!

Dude you have as much hair on the top of your head as you do on the sides and the back. Like so many other posters with their pics, you are not bald, or balding. It amazes me how obsessed these people with perfectly good heads of hair are. Really, come on. Coming from a 33 yo w/ NW6, I am personally insulted with all these NW1's posting their pics and saying that their so bald. If you consider yourself to be bald, then what does that make me? A frigin alien, thats what. Truth is I would kill to have your hair and if I have to kill you or any other of these non-bald crybabies I probably would. So listen to the ramblings of this real bald man and get off this forum and go out there and get some pussy, because at least you still can.

you probabily know who they are if you are here long enough, I had an arguement with one of them, and I almost got banned. lol

The best time to attack hairloss is in it's premature stages... as Sun Zi says "Deal with a big problem while it is still small" (paraphrased from memory). People like uncomfortable man at a NW6 generally only supply bitter comments and unsolicited negativity.

There are three types of hair as far, as I'm as concerned:

Full head of hair (no hair loss noticeable)
Bald (snooker ball style)
Balding - which accounts for everything in between (slight bald spot, receding hairline, general thinning... whatever)

Why would you wait until you're fully bald before you start fighting hair loss? How ridiculous a notion is that?
It's like the old hairloss infomercials that show dudes that go from moderate balding to slightly less moderate balding. What's the point? You still look like you're balding.

NW1, NW0, I don't care, if you think you're balding, take photos and over a period of time can visibly see it... start bloody well doing something about it.
As for all you bastards that tell them to get off the site, stop have a think about what you're saying and whether or not if you had the opportunity and know what you know now you would've started treatments while your hair still looked like their's does. Sheeit.

Admittedly, if I had begun a regimen back when I first noticed the signs, I might be in a different place than I am today. I went through my denial phase, I went through my concealment phase. I did look for options along the way and was disappointed many times. The most important phase I am going through right now is the acceptance phase(part of the reason I joined these forums). Is it my fault that I'm loosing my hair? No. Is it my fault that I didn't go on the big 3 when I should have? Absolutely. I'm not trying to make excuses for myself, but does that mean that I deserve to have endured the kind of hardships, humiliation and persecution that you know nothing about? No!!

i find doing things to keep yourself busy rather important, when I am busy, I don't have time to worry about the hair loss at all.
