Hi,

Has anyone experience rapid hair loss at this age as I expected to keep alot of hair now but have lost so much over the last 6 months that by another 6 months i'll be bald on top..its receding rapidly.

The problem seems to be less hair loss but that any hair lost is not being replaced so no new hair is coming.

Tried the mild stuff Saw Palmetto, Procerin, MSM, Bisthetiques, Nisim but none have slowed it down even tried acupuncture and dietry supplements so now have to look at the big 3 I guess.

Was going to start with Spectral DNC which seems to be good in the blogs and a possible for receding. Propecia is a big decision as it requires commitment, money and the side affects worry me.

Gald it didn't happen younger but all us older guys get just as depressed about it..it just doesn't get any easier.

Why can't we all have thick dark hair like Simon Cowell at his age..

PS Good to hear that Dr Rogers is well though of here, I thought that on consultation although I need my hair to be more stable before considering.

I think you're right. Have ordered some Finpecia from In House Pharmacy, seemed very reasonable, hope its as good as the real Propecia. Thought I might start on half a tab per day.

Just need to get this thing stabilised before seeing Dr Rogers and getting the hairline fixed.

sorry man, but when you say that its just as bad when you recede at age 40, i cant help but disagree. look at someone like me, im 21 and in the last 6 months, i havent receded at all, i've just rapidly intensely become thin all over my entire head. almost to the point where that each individual hair is half the thickness it was 6 months ago. i still have to go thru the hardest years of my life and what are also supposed to be the best years of my life like this. so before you get too down over your situation, take a step back and look at how hard some other people have it. id almost give anyuthng just to be a receder and not an entire scalp thinner.

I do agree and sympathise even more the younger you are and I do think of that seeing you young guys on this forum.

Keep and eye on Intercytex HM happening inthe UK....another few years and it should be reality then we will all be saved. Just keep having to find the best treatments in the meantime and this site seems great for that as its not manufacturers putting thier spin on things..its real people all sharing help

You just depressed me, I always thought after you reach a certain age with a decent amount of hair that the probability of not going bald is very low. Man , male pattern baldness is a like a lightswitch, you just never know when it'll turn on, whether your 35, 40, 45.. Sigh................

For the first time I will route for Man U tomorrow. I just hate Abramovich's mercenaries.
I am 37 and I agree with you. Last two years I went from hairy monster in Portugal (during Euro2004) to guy who started using Propecia a month ago. Don't stop fighting.

I think if it was going gradually then I would be able to deal with it better..but yes its like a light switch..every day its worse.

Cannot see any regrowth at all, I only lose 10-30 hairs a day when I wash it yet its gone as thin as hell over the whole front in the last few weeks.

I had long hair earlier this year and had to keep getting it cut shorter every time I go to hairdressers now its only 1-2 inch cut and the only thing left will be a shave next time. If I knew it was going to go this quick I would have gone on the hard stuff quicker.

I had a HRT quote from Dr Rogers 3 mths ago..I recon he'd have to double the transplant number now.

Today is the pits.
