sometimes nothing can save the hairline from maturing, who knows what propecia saved or slowed down while you were on it

Sometimes i feel really down looking into the mirror when i see that my right temple is getting worse and the loss is becomign more visible. Is it me or is the propecia causing this ? I really hope a cure come up and i can put an end to this torturing hair loss. I can't focus on anything , it's more like i don't feel motivated to work on anything when i know that i am losing my hair but there is nothing that i can do to prevent it!

My scalp feel really sore now , is this because of hyperandrogenity? When i thought the worst has gone and my hairloss has stabilized, another terrible shed happens again and now i almost give up hoping for regrowth. The scalp soreness is still there, should i try quitting propecia and see how it goes???? IF I QUIT and find something wrong and get back on it immediately, will it do more dmg to my hair ????

maybe ya could try ride it out for a while what have ya got to loose? If its only your temples that are going? or a slight pain in the temple? if ur jus receding at the temple then I'd relax a bit, ya can try other topicals and think positive. Sometimes I think a lot of people on this forum are crazy (not u) the way they worry about minor hair loss and worrying about whats in the post. There a lot worse things that can happen to u, think positive and invest in some other meds and try not to worry :woot:

I think you've made a similar topic to this before?

If it was you then like I said. whatever you think it is doing or not doing. It is not going to get better from a cosmetic standpoint if you quit it.

However if you feel the need to see for yourself, then simply stop taking it. Any hair you lose in those first few months of being of propecia, should be hair your able to get back if you start up your regimen again. Not all though.

But your complaining because your hairloss is getting worse? Propecia isn't causing this, propecia simply isn't stopping it. Theres a huge difference. Your blaming propecia for not stopping your progression along your hairline, yet if you quit propecia.. what do you think will happen? Your hairline will magically stop receding?

The level of how well people respond to finasteride varies across the board. Some people never notice any difference, some regrow, some maintain. Some lose it in certain areas but maintain in others. It all depends on how you respond. For you it would seem finasteride simply isn't enough to stop your progression entirely.

But it's still slowing it down which is something.

I think i am not suppose to progress to NW2 when i am still so young , judging from the hairloss of the relatives i have. All my cousin from my father side has a perfect hairline with no hairloss at all. My father and all of his siblings show no sign of hairloss as well. I am guessing i got it from my mother's side. My mom's dad is at NW3-4 but i have a feeling that he didnt have it until the later stage of his life. Some of my mom's brother show no hairloss and for those who have, the hairloss is not aggressive at all, meaning at the age of 35-40, the hairloss is still not noticable at max a NW2 or slightly higher. But here i am suffering from temple recession at the age of 21. And it is progressively getting worse coincide with the itchiness that i didnt have before starting propecia.
So i am just worried that i have made the wrong choice because propecia might have make things worse for me.

ANyway, can anyone tell me whether the laser theory/device that OverMachoGrande came up with is working effectively, he seems experienced and there are alot ppl backing him up. I think he is really dedicated too to come up with a very detailed website to help sufferer like us.

Is laser going to do any damage to the scalp if it is proved to be not working ? i am afraid of adding in any new treatment atm until i am confirmed that the treatment won't make thing worse if it's not going to work for me.

Can't you see though, that none of that really matters? Hairloss doesn't just come from your parents, or your parents parents, It goes on and on. Every male in your family could have full heads of hair for the last 100 years and yet you could still be balding.

What your doing is trying to find a way to pretend your hairloss isn't normal. You shouldn't be going bald, your too young. But pretending it isn't happening doesn't help mate. I went through the same thing when My dermatologist told me I had male pattern baldness. He said it like it was the most casual thing. I think without any feeling of over dramatizing it, My heart literally skipped a beat when he said it.

I was about ready to strangle him force him to give me another reason, Another cause. Because obviously at 15 you cannot have male pattern baldness.. It's just too young. He had to be wrong. It must be my thyroid, it must be lack of biotin. It must be stress. Hairloss only comes from your mothers side anyway right? My grandfather had all his hair! I wore a hat too much, I scratched my head too often.

I went through all these motions..

But male pattern baldness just is what it is, Your 22, a perfectly normal age to be receding at... By the time I'm 22 If I don't restart finasteride, If no new treatments come out. I myself will be an NW5.

But isnt male pattern baldness triggered by genetic ? so how can someone who has no gene for hairloss actually suffer from it?

I am really afraid now , i really dont know what to do. I can't face anyone if my hairloss progress any further, not to mention it's already quite obvious atm. Have you read about the laser therapy by OVerMachoGrande? I relaly want to try it but i am afraid it will make things worse!! i am thinking propeica has made thing worse for me
