Hi, just wanna gather some opinions on this

Is it a good move to start treatment at 20 year-old when the male pattern baldness is not obvious / aggressive enough ?
considering the body MIGHT build up tolerance towards propecia after mayb 5 years of treatment which is around 25 years old , if i start later i might be able to have my hair in good shape until 30 year old

If i start on propecia and stop halfway , will the male pattern baldness be more aggressive than the beginnnign ?

Is it possible that propecia might trigger more aggressive hairloss but at the same time controlling it , therefore when you are off the drug ( coz of side ) the hairloss is more aggressive than the beginning

if it's not obvious, or serious, I wouldn't bother starting.

your body doesn't "build up a tolerance" to finasteride. your hair is just gradually overwhelmed by dht and slowly loses the battle unless you get something stronger, like maybe dutasteride. Not saying this happens to everybody.

if you stop your course of propecia, you will simply lose the hair that you had saved whilst taking it and your male pattern baldness will continue where it left

there's no evidence of that. what makes you ask that?

oh and; post pics if you want a real opinion.

My hairline is something like taug but less severe (receeding on both sides) , and i have thinning around crown too and is less severe too compared to taug. I am asian btw

I am still unsure that if i have male pattern baldness because my dad still has a full head of hair with no receeding hairline at all but my maternal grandfather has male pattern baldness and is probably NW4 by now. I am sure that my hairline has receeded a bit but that might be premature hairline which i highly doubt.

i started at 21, went from 1 to 0.5 to 0.25
if you are going to start i recommend taking 0.5 or 0.25

depends how severe your hair loss is

it is never too early to start hair loss treatment. imo you should definetly go for it, I wish I had done the same when I was 20.

if your body is fully developed, then you shouldn't be too young for it.

Hell yeah! I would of started taking Finasteride at 16 when i still had my juvenile hairline, if i knew it was going to receed. I would of prefered not to get even my mature hairline. If only I could turn back time :(

^ That's what I say! Hell yeah! I started when I was 17 and if I knew I would lose my hair so early, I would have started at 15 damn it!

If you have just started/noticed any male pattern baldness symtoms then YES start proscar. It is far better to maintain what you have cause it isn't easy to get regrowth at all. I wish I started proscar when my thinning became noticable to me, but I was so uninformed. :dunno:
