minoxidil that is...

4 months of minoxidil. No slowing or regrowth whatsoever. Hair is definetly thinning more and more. Even worse is that all lost hairs thin completely to the root over the length of the hair. The biggest problem is that the areas that I apply the most minoxidil are the areas of my scalp that are thinning the fastest. I know I've written those exact words in 4 posts now, but I'm pretty sure if minoxidil was working for me I would at least see healthier hairs shedding by now.

I'm look for sound advice. It has been 4 months, no results seen, I'm loosing hope in minoxidil very fast. Could minoxidil be worsening my hairloss? Am I just wasting my money?

What does science say? What to the veterans say?

Read about Jon Ross in the photo gallery, he said he saw no results on finasteride + minoxidil until 6- 8 months.

Hang in there........

Yeah well we'll see with the propecia. I dont think anything is really kicking in just yet. I'm going to finish of the remaining ~ 100ml of minoxidil that i have and then if i dont see a change.. I'm done with it.

I agree... I'm finally actually seeing improvement on my crown after 9 months on the sh*t. It takes time. But quit if you want. :)

Quitting ?

For one that Folligen that you use might be counteracting the good effects of the Xandrox. Ask Dr Lee about it. That is what he told me. E-mail him at [email protected] and ask him about it. And you might try a more aggresive approach and try his new formula Xandrox 15% and his treatment shampoo Nizoral 2% with Salicylic acid. Stay on the finasteride. It takes time. You might be going through a serious shedding phase. Just try not to worry about it. I would just tell Dr. Lee the news about your problem. I'm very sure he could help you. Don't give up. Good Luck.

I have been on minoxidil for 7 months now, and have not seen ANY results until month 5. It seems that only now it is kicking in really good! Im actually getting a huge regrowth on my temples. However, I use minoxidil with Retin A at least every night or every other day. Whenever my scalp can handle it.

Yea dont quit you will regret it later. Ride it out one full year untill you consider quiting. You should have no doubt whatsoever.

I mean i felt like the products I was using where not working at all but they are.

My vellus really short hair that has been the same size for months is starting to grow longer like normal hair. Im not getting excited about it cause it's still thin but it is growing longer. At least one good sign.

hey, what exactly does bv do? i'm on month 9 on minoxidil, and month 10 on propecia (almost 10 and 11 now), and haven't seen any regrowth on the crown. thinking about going to xandrox and spironolactone, and if that doesn't do anything after four months, then switching to 15% xandrox, and if still in the creek, i guess maybe a fue hair transplant on the crown so i can at least not have to be "bald" until i'm in my 30s

you know, i've always wondered the same thing. when i started minoxidil. my hair was just thinning.. but my hair is much thinner in only the places i applied minoxidil also. but it's been like 2 and a half years.. and i still have enough hair to conceal the thinning... well. at least by the way i comb it. how much hair i'd of lost if i wasn't on minoxidil.. i'd never know. anyways..i apply it only once a day now. twice a day when i don't work or go out in the morning because of a holiday, weekend, or day off.. putting it on at night is much more convenient. from what dr. lee said, it's ok to apply minoxidil after using it a year. i've been on it for over 2

I personally think minoxidil is a waste of time. At some point during your life you are going to stop taking it. In addition to being an extreme burden it also is ultimately just artificial hair. It does nothing systematic. I would definitely not recommend it to anyone. Propecia is your best choice as of now.

Propecia + spironolactone is your best choice in my opinion.

Thanks for the support. I'm going to run through these latest bottles of minoxidil I bought and see how it goes.

Thanks.

That makes no sense. None.

Artificial hair? minoxidil makes your own hair grow. Otherwise it would not come out looking the same as your regular hair. If you call it artificial hair because it's only there since you treated it, then drop finasteride, and your thoughts of an hair transplant.

I have been on it for a couple months now, and I can only say that I thinking thinning on the crown has gotten worse...people are starting to comment...but who knows, obviously I was on the path, and that is why I started..I am gonna hope that it does something....

I also took a 4 month hiateous from it..so I have no clue...

I wish I had taken some pictures...

I assume you apply minoxidil only to the areas that were already thinning. Thus it seems like the areas you apply minoxidil thin faster, but these areas would have thinned quickly anyways.

Give it time.
