About 2000mg - 3000mg is a good ammount daily. Studies say 3000mg over 3 months can improve hair texture.

I'm on 0mg a day, L-Lysine is supposed to do the same thing and I have found it to be cheaper.

Interesting, ive never heard of anybody else saying L-Lysine has made thier hair grow faster. GSE yes, MSM yes, but not L-Lysine. L-Lysine did absolutely nothing for me when i took it for several months.

I have been visiting all these boards for well over a year now and MSM has just popped up. Whether or not people were taking it 2 years ago and have never metioned it once for the year plus I have been looking around on hair loss sites must be the case then :roll: . I guess everyone just has been hiding the fact that they have been taking MSM for over a year now and all of a sudden just started mentioning it again. Then everyone that was taking it must have been lying about the fact they were taking for so long just to keep me out of the loop.
The fact is you need to stop trying to act like you know what your talking about, because it really is annoying having to deal with people like you that think they know a lot but really dont.

First of all, MSM is bioactive sulfur. That's it. To my knowledge, as far as amino acids go, N-aetyl ciestine is the best for this purpose (not lysine).
Of course just because lysine is the best doesn't me it's not good. Frankly I'm not familiar with the sulfur content of lysine so I'm not going to BS anyone here.
Anyhow, There are plently of other ways to obtain the needed sulfur to grow hair faster, improve hair texture quality and even possibly increase hair diameter (rather than spending money on NAC and MSM). My recommendation would be garlic and/or onions.

Msm, L-Lysine, and L-Araadfadfadfdfd whatever it is just supply your hair with nutrients that you should get through the food you eat. They all do the same thing which is provide your body with the nutrients to produce healthy hair, none of them are any better than the others. They probably help very little, but I have found that since I have been taking L-Lysine I have to get haircuts sooner than I did before I wasn't taking it. I am sure that if I started taking one of the other things things would be the same, I just chose to save the few dollars and buy L-Lysine, which I have read more positive things about than using Msm, which I have just started seeing things about. Like always though you have people that think they have the vast knowledge of God and think they are always correct so they have to be rude about the whole thing.

hmmm...ok, I will try and not be rude, from the latest post you obviously don't know an awful lot about these nutrients and I am sure you wouldn't argue with that. Nutrition really is not as simple as your post suggests, L-Lysine can help growth in the body in other ways than a simple 'hair nutrient'
my point is that you are giving advise when you don't appear to know what you are talking about, I only post advise when I feel I can add something to a question, if that question was about mixing folligen with minoxidil I wouldn't have a clue, if It was about using Naicin as a GH releaser I would venture my opinion, as this is an area I had read extensively.(not because it has popped up on a hairloss forum in the last 18 months).

hmmm...ok, I will try and not be rude, from the latest post you obviously don't know an awful lot about these nutrients and I am sure you wouldn't argue with that. Nutrition really is not as simple as your post suggests, L-Lysine can help growth in the body in other ways than a simple 'hair nutrient'

I take the sh*t and its helpd me, with my muscles as I box and am always sore after a good workout, so far it appears to be helping me grow my hair but I will hav 2 wait and see after a longa period...

All the info any one needs, the stuff is great for a variety things, not just ur hair, so it would be advisable to take no matter ur hair sitch.

Yes MSM has a variety of uses, if you have sore joints or mild arthiritis it can certainly help amongst other things.
