Hey all,

I'm 25 and noticed thinning in crown and front corners 2 years ago, hopped on romaine immediately but derm said I really was too young to consider propecia. Fast forward and crown thinning is picking up and front as well- I'm considering propecia.

I think rogaine has slowed down the loss but that's difficult to gauge. My older brother has extremely thick hair and My dad is 63 with all of his hair. I got screwed by my moms side but her dad died around 30 so I only have like 1 old school picture to look at and its not very helpful (additionally he's too young in it to know potential hair loss).

Obviously the only thing holding me back is side effects (primarily anything long term/irreversible and gyno). I met one derm 2 weeks ago who was willing to prescribe and I'm meeting another next week just for another opinion.

Anybody who has used BOTH propecia and finasteride for a while- please tell me about your story, your gains, and sides as well.

I would really like to thicken what I have, maintain that, and any help on corners/hairline would be a great bonus.

Any feedback greatly appreciated!

If you start to use finasteride at your 18-19 years old, you never need to minoxidil or any topical..

Finasteride prevents hair loss when people use it at young ages for lifelong protecting. A lot of people start to use finasteride too late.

Right I guess my question is what are the odds using finasteride and minoxidil will thicken up what I have?
