16 years old. I had so-called mature hairline at 15. My hair was always thinner (finer) and blonder in temples. No they seem to be almost gone. Always kind of had high hairline but I know it is now higher hairline. My father was balding in 30s. My mother has female pattern baldness at 46. Her dad has no receding at 74. Paternal grandpa only about a Norwood 3. But both parents no temples. Itchy scalp. Oily hair. What Norwood? I am supposed to see a derm/hair surgeon in 3 weeks. I don't want to go because I probably wouldn't take Propecia or use Rogaine. Should I rethink that. Honestly, it's my mother that kind of pointed this out and obsesss more than I do. She thinks I will regret not treating it early and being bald really early. What should I do???

I have never heard of someones mum encouraging them to get treatment so young- wow.
I guess if you say she has lost hair too then she knows what it must be like etc

Honest opinion id say its too early to tell right now. I had a mature hairline at 15 way deeper than yours and ive got a full head still at 31 , yet I saw guys in my class at high school with 'perfect' hairliness that rapidly diffused into NW6's in early 20's.

Id say at your age it is too early to tell whats gonna happen with your hair but it looks fine at this stage but there s nothing wrong with starting Minoxidil at 15, just wait till 21 id say before using hormone altering meds

Thanks. I am not sure if I want to start anything. I guess I will wait and see what the derm says. I do have a scaly flaky patch at the top of my head that doesn't go away with regular dandruff or tea tree shampoo. So I would like to get rid of that. Itchy scalp.
