Hi Everyone,

First post here. I first noticed my hairline starting to recede around 2 years ago, but recently it's gotten worse. Especially around the temples....Is there any chance this will simply stop? Or should I accept the fact that I'll likely lose more?

My Dad is pretty much bald and so was my grandfather....s

Thanks!

There is no way to tell. As I've said before, I started to notice my hair line receding around the ago of eighteen- I'm thirty-seven now and still have most of my hair because my hair loss so far, has been really slow. Meanwhile a friend of ine started to lose his around 23/24 and it felt like everytime I saw him he had lost more hair. Within a year or two he was practically bald.

Thanks for the replies. I guess time will tell.

My wife's urging me to see a doctor, but I've heard that a lot of medications could harm my kidneys. Don't know if it's worth the risk of harming my body for youthful hair. Then again, one of the things she found attractive about me was my thick hair.

Yeah everyone asks if they are going to bald. The answer is no one knows. You can guess all day like we can but really its just a guess. If you have family history I would go by that over anything else so if your dad is bald I would say your probably going the same way.

To put it rather melodramatically, fighting hair loss is like fighting death. The process is happening a little bit every day, there is a lot of stuff you can do that MIGHT push it off for longer, you might even naturally have certain biological qualities that allow you to keep it going, but in the end there is no avoiding it.

I guess the only way of warding of either of these is becoming a vampire, and thats obviously not a realistic option.
