hi guys,
im 23 years old and have receded quite badly for the past 2 years. actually 2 years ago it was when i first noticed thinning hair. for me it is genetic as my dad, brothers and uncles are all receded (but only on the sides of head) except 3 of my uncles who have a bit but not to an extreme degree.

in the future i think i will get a follicular unit hair transplant because based on the little research i did that seems the best so far (to my knowledge).

but for now it seems that propecia would be great to prevent further hair loss. but the problem is its price which i think is f*****g ridiculous, they really know how to grab desperate men by the balls.

Generic Propecia seems great but i doubt its credibility but the price is jsut what it should be. do you guys think its worth buying it and is there anything else i could take to regrow/prevent hair loss.

much appreciated

I would advise you not to start on propecia if you are just having mild recession , i too had mild recession and started propecia thinking of slowing down the process or stopping it but in the end it actually make things worse!!

no I don't think you're paranoid I'm just trying to understand what you mean by sides only. Something I haven't seen unless you mean temples only. If you're worried about price you could go with cutting proscar, which is what I do.

This is not always true. But a vast number of users seem to experience this. At the end of the day I would still rather be on finasteride than not on it. Some people have growen their temples on finasteride. Its a bit of a lucky dip. You just gotta pray you're one of the lucky ones :agree:

Dont' listen to us. Get on the proscar dude. It really helps.

Do a little more research on this board. Use the search function there is an abundance of information on this forum about this stuff.

The over whelming majority is good.

Finasteride doesn't work on the temples for most people, so that area will continue to recede while on finasteride, giving the illusion that finasteride is hurting, when in actuality it just isn't helping as much there.

You really need to start finasteride and combine it with minoxidil foam on the hairline - that should at least lock you in place, no more loss.

And quit bitching about the price - I'd pay double that to keep my hair - thanks for all your hard work and research Merck!
