Hi

I am a 19 year old male who recently noticed that it looks like my temples potentially are receding. Since male pattern baldness is really common on in my fathers side of the family this is really frightening. My father started to lose his hair in his mid 20's. I have always had high hairline and big forehead. Having a hard time comparing with pictures from recent years since I mostly have had long hair which have been covering the temples. This is really freaking me out and all i seem to be able to think off, during the last days, is my hair.

Looks like your hairline is recessing. Don't panic. Go see a a reputed hairtransplant doctor. Get your hair mapped out for miniaturization. If it is present, hop on Propecia. You are really young so you should get good result from meds.

Okay, thanks for the advice. Where would you guys place me on the Norwood Scale? I have searched around for information and found out about the "mature hairline", which seems to be normal for someone my age to develop. My question is then if my receding have overextended the limit for what someone would call a mature hairline? From my understanding a mature hairline is basically male pattern baldness which stops for some years, maybe even decades.

You're like a Norwood 1.5, maybe 2 at the most.
