Receeding hairline from front and temples...

Hi,

I'm a 28yo male and for that last couple of years I've been losing hair from the front of my hairline (above forehead) and also at the temples.

I've tried the following to no avail:

Linseed oil capsules (1500mg per day)
Saw Palmetto capsules (150mg per day)
Natural shampoo

However, the hairline is still receeding and I want to put a stop to it before it gets any worse.

I'm not interested in crappy unproven products, only ones with proven results. I would be grateful for information on products which are proven to work on hairloss from the front.

Can I regain my lost hair, or can I only stop further loss.

Start taking Propecia. What your taking now will now help. I'm sorry you have been taking crap that is not helping. Someone had to say it. Stay with stuff that works. Propecia for 5 years and if it starts to loss it's strength then add minoxidil.

These treatments have a ton of evidence suggesting they help hairloss in the front and tempal areas. The FDA trials conducted on minoxidil and Finasteride focused on the vertex areas of the scalp and didnt look at frontal regions, HOWEVER there are various independant studies showing their effectiveness in frontal and tempal area hairloss. I recently posted a study showing the effectiveness of 1mg Finasteride in frontal hairloss. Plus there are many people on here who have had great results using these treatments for frontal hairloss.

Im not going to do your research for you. Theres a search feature on this site and your looking for a study on finasteride treatment effectiveness in frontal hairloss. You mission: Find it.
As for the question about whether or not I have a financial interest in any hair loss product, Im not even going to justify such a lame remark with an answer.

I use Dutasteride which seems to be the strongest medicines out there for hairloss.

I am curious as to why FDA trials conducted on minoxidil and Finasteride only on other areas and missed out totally on the frontal areas?

I saw posts on other sites that non FDA proven methods also work.

Realistically, the trials could only focus on one specific area of the scalp to measure hair count. If they had used the frontal area, then no-one with thinning on the vertex would bother with it. However, people with frontal hair loss will eventually develop thinning in the vertex area, so these people would still use Propecia even if the evidence from the FDA trials suggested it only worked on the vertex. This is why the trials focused on the vertex area. Its all about profits with these drug companies.
Remember, Merck never claim that Propecia doesnt work in the frontal areas, only that there is not enough evidence to say it does work.
