Hi everyone, I'm new here.

I'm 25 and I've been losing hair for a few years now. Unforunately, I'm not the kind of guy who can pull off the shaved head or even long hair styles. This problem is starting to severely affect my self-esteem, motivation and general happiness.

I live in Hong Kong and I was hoping that some of you could point me in the right direction for a quality FUE doctor in Asia. I guess China, South Korea, Thailand and Philippines are the common places to go for decent quality at a lower price. Maybe a Dr who has experience with Caucasians (I assume our hair is quite different to work with than Asians)?

As you can see from the pics, my crown area is the worse off. I guess my receding hairline isn't so bad... but I might eventually want to have some work done there as well. It all depends on how much donor hair I can work with- I'm hoping the doctor can give me an honest estimate for that. I know I have to be realistic with my expectations but I absolutely want to fix the thinning in my crown. I'd rather have density there than coverage all over.

I will probably have to go back for later sessions when I lose the hair that I haven't yet lost. Is that correct? Or is it possible to transplant some donor hair in between the follicles that will eventually fall out? :dunno:

Right now, I'm using the Nioxin #2 3-part system for about a month and I can't see much of a difference but I will persist. I can't find a retailer for the Follicle Booster- does it help? I'm quite afraid of the side effects of Finasteride and I don't want to use Minoxidil because I have two cats at home and they are quite cuddly and curious.

Sorry for asking so many question.

I appreciate any help or advice you can give me. :bravo:

I don't know of any good doctors in the places you are asking about, most of the best doctors are in the States.

Choosing a doctor on the basis of price is a bad idea, you only have one head so you should look for quality rather than the cheapest deal you can get.

Also don't waste your money on Nioxin it doesn't do anything.

Read as many posts on this site as you can to get a better idea of what you are getting into and get some ideas about good surgeons.

Thank you for your post.

I don't see why there wouldn't be good doctors outside of the US. I'm sure someone on this forum knows of some of them at least.

Some of us can't afford the best doctors, please understand this, therefore price is an important factor. That being said, I'm not looking for "the cheapest deal" I can get. I'm looking for good value.

And lastly, I have seen small but noticeable improvements with Nioxin so I have to disagree with you on that.

Thanks for the advice. He sounds really fantastic and for a very reasonable price too. Do you know if he plans to practice for a few more years or is he nearing retirement?

Most of the doctors with consistently good results with many patient success stories posted on forums like these ARE in the States or Canada. There are one or two outside the States but not many. That's just the way it is.

Also if you can't afford a doctor who produces consistently good results you should forget about having a transplant, otherwise you are in danger of ending up looking like a freak. Remember this is irreversible surgery, if you get your head f@*cked up it will be for good.

The closest FUE doctor is Dr. Ray Woods in Sydney, Australia, the guy that invented the procedure.
