Reflex hyperandrogencity sufferers -please help

Hi everyone,

In 2018 I developed reflex hyperandrogencity from finasteride. I got horrible acne and hairloss all over aswell as the usual higher libido. I'm now at a position where even the acne meds arent working(I'm 27 years old btw). Has anyone with reflex hyperandrogencity taken accutane for the acne?

So like 7 years of continued reflex hyperandrogencity?? Thats mad... I know finasteride and dutasteride can make changes in the body that never goes away. I got a permanent sexual side effect from finasteride that didnt improve even after 4 months off it. So I decided to get back on finasteride.

Yep. Luckily I never got the dreaded scalp itch to a huge degree(although my scalp is much more sensitive but it's fine). The acne has been ongoing for 7 years. Occasionally i will have it under control with topicals but these are not working well right now. Keep in mind my axne was gone before this. I have made piece with the horrible hairloss and even got SMP. I'm wondering what do you think of taking accutane , given my strange reflex sides. Is there other people with RH who have gone this route?

So reflex for 7 years wow.. how was the hair before finasteride?? Also is the hair shedding still going on now?? How much hair did you lose from reflex??

Hair was thick as hell just very mild temporal recession. After RH started I began losing hair even on the back and sides (DUPA). I got SMP and have since forgotten about the hairloss. However the acne is relentless

I’m confused you got off after only 3 months are you sure it wasn’t just a shed?? I think I got it too.. how much damage did it do to your hair?? I know you don’t care about your hair now but if you did grow it out is it fully bald now or just a little receded??

Completely receded and thinning literally all over. Wasn't just a shed unfortunately

There’s gotta be a way to figure out reflex.. I’m wondering if you stayed on it maybe it would if eventually worked and went away?? 3 months isn’t long but then again idk maybe it would of gotten worse .. you were doing just 1 mg a day?? And look at the hairs your shedding and see if there thinner at the root

I actually went off it and went back on it and the acne,libido and shedding increased. Unfortunately I had none of this before. Theres countless stories on these forums with similar stories. It's a shame

Oh so you were on it with good results and quit then restarted or the reflex happened both times you took it?? There is a lot of stories on here about that.. look at hairs and let me know if it gets thinner at the root

When I first started finasteride I had no symptoms for the first 3 months. Then all these side effects started. I have smp now and shave my head so can't tell if it gets thinner

I hate reflex.. I do wonder if you would have went down to half mg everyday or 1 mg 3 times a week if the reflex would have slowed down?? I hate reflex like I said and it’s real but I will say even if it made the recoeptors senitve to dht if we didn’t have the baldness gene it wouldn’t matter.. so it’s still the baldness gene at fault idc if we have dht that’s to the moon with a million receptors if we don’t have the gene it wouldn’t matter.. always comes down to them dirty moms side x chromosome gene.. sometimes I wanna kill her I know that’s a bit far and I wouldn’t and she didn’t know about what she was about to do.. that x chromosome is a b**ch

Would you take accutane if you had RH with the acne?

I have accepted the hair loss
