Regaine causing dandruff and itching

I have used Regaine for almost a year now and I can see some really thin like 2 cm tall hair growing, where I have put it. The problem is, I get itching and dandruff every time I put it in my hair, since I started using it. I thought it was a side effect everyone got, but yesterday someone told me that dandruff can stop the new hair from rising and I noticed that my hair wasn't that good at all. Maybe Minoxidil isn't for me?
Should I stop using Regaine, because of the side effects? Am I really the only one, who gets itching and dandruff while using it, or is it something that everyone gets and should just be ignored?

Is that dandruff and itching something serious or not?

I used to have itching on the temples, but rogaine stopped the itching for me. Which seems strange from reading other
posts.

Either use Rogaine foam or add Nizoral shampoo to your daily routine.

I had exact same problem,


T/Gel for itchy scalp helped me. Itchiness went away and the T/gel was removing the flakes after wash so it was managable.

I bought once a different T/gel (for sensitive scalp). It's not as effective for me

I try to wash my hair as rarely as I can.
