Hey Everyone.
Well today i finally got 5% rogaine lotion. I am order 5% foam online though.
Anyway, tonight i will start using it, so i just took some pics.
I thought i would start a thread where i can regularily post pics and give updates on my progress.
(If this is in the wrong section, then please move itt. =D )

Aneways here are some pics.

:( Yes it is pretty bad. What hairline number thing would i be...i hear people always asking what number they are...what would i be??

Anways here is my regimen now.
> 5% Rogaine (Every morning and night)
> Nizoral (Every 2 or 3 days)
> Vitamins:
- Centrum Complete
- Vitamin E
- Vitamin B Complex
- Vitamin C (But i think i might stop taking this...i heard to much can cause hair loss. Is this true?)
- Saw Palmetto (2 capsules a day)
- Zinc
- Nettle Leaves
- Omega 3
- Flaxseed Oil
- Ginko Biloba

I can't take propecia because i am only 15...

So anways...i was wondering if too much vitamin C can causee hair loss?? I read that somewhere.... and if it does then i dont know if i wanna take the chance with the vitamin in case i am getting too much.

Also, are there certain shampoos that help with hair loss that i should be using on the days i dont use Nizoral? I read about revivogen shampoo somewhere...would using that shampoo possibly have a positive effect on my hair?

Pleasee reply.
Thanks. :)

Re: Regular Updates with Pictures

Hello,

Welcome to the boards dude! I know how devastating it can be losing your hair at a young age (i started very young also). But looking at the shots of your right temple, it seems that you have a lot of fine hairs that just may have the potential to thicken up, so the rogaine foam is a good move. Maybe you might try looking into using topical 5% spironolactone lotion. Dr. Lee sells it at minoxidil.com. I'm not sure if you need to be 18 in order to purchase it, but you can email him and ask. If spironolactone is not an option, you might want to look into buying a topical that can have the potential to attack male pattern baldness at its core (maybe revivogen?). Shampoo wise, use nizoral 2-3 times per week. If your scalp is still irritated, rotate in neutrogena t-gel. If your scalp is not irritated, just use normal shampoo on your off days.

Try not to worry too much. You are acting to nip this problem in the butt. Just be consistent with your applications and make sure to take pics every month to guage progress. These boards are filled with tons of info and have lots of people that are willing to help and give advice. Goodluck bro!

Re: Regular Updates with Pictures

welcome to the boards, this place is great, lots of knowledgeable people.

you still have lots of hair, i'm sure most people cannot tell you're losing it. i've got bad temple recession, and i find having a shorter haircut and using gel (check out bedhead) to spike it up/spread it out in the front works best for me. sounds like you have a good regimen planned out, lots of people here have had amazing results with the products you are using. i just ordered some revivogen myself (some damn expensive stuff).

good luck man, take pictures, and keep us updated.

Thanks for the replies guys. :)
YES i will definately keep you all updated.. :)

aneways...i've been using the liquid rogaine for about 5 days now and i think my hair has started to fall out slightly less...i dont know if that is because of the roagine, or just because i have a positive attitude about possibly getting good results.......but it has definately slowed down...if it the rogaine then its great that im seeing results soo soon...i do hope to see some thicking at the hairline....ill just have to be patient. :)

Hey EVERYONE!
well ive been using Rogaine 5% for about a month and half now, and i have to say that the reults have been quite good so far. My hair loss has seemed to slow donw...
and im surprised by that...cuz i was only expecting it to thincken a tad.
and i have noticed some little hairs sprouting up aroun my hairline. :)

i just went to a hair specialist in my city and she prescribed me Propecia.
i dunno what to do..
should i take it?

Your hairloss looks like mine. Propecia is your best chance to maintain what you have.

He's 15 years old. I think the whole regimine is overkill to begin with, because at 15 your body is still changing and developing. If your hairloss is really progressing this rapidly at such a young age, I think the best thing to do is develop a healthy attitude towards hair loss and the acceptance of losing your hair. Propecia at 15 is just not the answer.

I think you need to get on propecia right away. I realise you're only 15 but this is a rare exception to the rule. If you dont I believe you will most likely be Captain Piccard NW7 territory before your 21st birthday!

Without taking it there is not a lot you can do to slow it down.

You need a DHT inhibator pronto.....All other treatments are a waste of time unless you have this.

Btw I think your a NW2.5. But your hair is diffusing and minaturizing all over your head. It just looks sick, limp and ravaged by DHT :(

Propecia dude....Trust me :) and hopefully you can keep what you got now and maybe even gain some!

I wouldn't get on propecia at 15, probably not the best age to be messing with hormones, but who knows, i'm no scientist.

And your hair does not look "ravaged by DHT" - hardly noticeable hairloss if you ask me, though 15 is pretty young even to be seeing early signs.

I've been on foam for a month, also noticed the little hairs sprouting on the hairline, but overall I've been losing ground.....ahh.....

Given your age, I'd try Revivogen scalp therapy (not the Revivogen shampoo) first. Ideally twice a day (morning and evening). If that's either too inconvenient or too expensive, do it before you go to bed and wash it out in the morning.

I have a question about propecia...
if i do start it, am i garunteed to shed???
or do some people not experiance the shedding?

also, what effects could using propecia have on my body, and are they permanent?

Not everyone sheds. Besides shedding is usually a good sign that the drug is working.

Look it really depends how much you value your hair, sometimes you just gotta go for it and say to hell with the side effects. Thats life. I would rather deal with a few minor side effects (and thats all they are) then live a life without hair.

Stay away from propecia until you are 18-20 years old. Did you told the doctor that gave you the prescription that you are only 15????? If you did, this doctor is unethical, propecia is STRICTLY for adults. It may give you severe PERMANENT sexual side effects. You may have similar problems with every internal dht inhibitor around.

It sucks losing hair this early, but for now minoxidil is the way to go until you are at least 18. Your health is much more precious than your hair.

well if he is mature enough for his hairloss to be this way at 15,maybe he is mature enough to take propecia . jack82 can you show me this study that points out these permanent sexual side effects you re talking about? I bet the sides on his mentality will be way more serious and more "permantent" if he's nw6 at 20.

Serious hair loss doesn't necessarily mean that your body is mature enough. Some guys just have extremely androgen sensitive hair, for genetic reasons. male pattern baldness can start while you are still early in puberty.

all the clowns on here telling this kid to get on propecia need to SHUT THE F*CK UP. i dont even think 18 year olds should swallow that garbage. is hair more important than the hormones that essentially make you a man?
