My father is balding, but he was Norwood 2 up until his 40s. Meanwhile I'm a very diffused Norwood 3 who started balding at 17. Mom's side has perfect hair genes.
This based purely based off my own observations, but it seems if your dad has strong balding genes you have a high likelihood of going bald, but it doesn't work the other way around. Just because your dad has great hair doesn't mean you will either, seen plenty of people with worse hair than their dad.

What does it mean?your Father started loosing hair in 40's and mothers side has good hair genes! Does it mean hairloss genetics/ inheritance is poorly understood?
I am amazed to see this negative trait is so much complex biologically. Why would nature selected this trait at the first place? What advantage had it to our male ancestors(if any)?
But i want to see paternal side correlation with male pattern baldness. I request all to vote.
Mother's side mixed hair genes (some are balding some not). From my father's side top hair genes and only my father balded. But he started balding in his 40s. I started balding at 18.
The thing is... I look almost like my father (face, body etc) and I m developing the same pattern only that I started to bald 20 years earlier...

Yes, that's exactly what I mean. He had a thick Norwood 2 until 45 or so, then started balding. No males on my mother's side are bald.

Just my 2cents. But using keto daily can't be good for your scalp or hair

I read about Australian study which has concluded that 81% of bald men they studied had bald Father. I couldn't find that study, anyone has a link of that study?

I mean i read it on a forum ,i don't remember where. Do anyone know about that study and have a direct link of publication.

From my own observation over the years, this is what im concvinced of. A father who went bald in his early has a very very high chance of having a fully bald son who also balds in early 20s. Fathers who went bald later in life (35+) its a toss up and goes either way.

U didn't hit the genetic lottery with dna but u did with the time u were born. With the newer cures coming up. In a couple years U should.be fineMy dad is fully bald and so was his dad. But also my mom's dad also went fully bald at 19

You can find threads from 2005 saying the same thing. An actual cure won’t be available for probably 20-30 years
I think if your dad is balding is your greatest risk of going bald yourself. That being said you can get the genes from anywhere, and girls carry but dont express it. So some random uncle or anyone on your moms side could have blessed you with the male pattern baldness genes even if everyone on your dad side has perfect hair. It could come from your great great grand father and just have passed through women down to you.
