In response to above question about RU as treatment,
Treatment by its definition needs to be used consistently to do away with symptoms. Thus, any treatment, including RU, is a treatment, not cure, and needs to be used all along to keep the benefits. Only exception is that you may interchange meds that will work in same mechanism. For example, RU and Flutamide topicals can be interchanged/swapped because they both work in same mechanism, that is, they are anti-androgens. Therefore, RU treatment is dependable.
However, it in unclear if topical anti-androgens can be discontinued and still keep the hair they were maintaining with orals such as finasteride/dutasteride or even oral flutamide/biculatamide
