Retin-a a worthy addition?

I've been using the big 3 and copper peptides for years. I want to try and thicken/regrow temples and as a last ditch effort been thinking of trying retin-a eod on my temples and hairline. I've read various studies stating it works by different means, either:

-helping minoxidil absorb
-decreases androgen receptors ~30% over time
-has it's own regrowth properties

what do you guys think? Worth a shot or will I be wasting time and $?

I don't know but the minoxidil i ordered from minoxidilmax comes with retinol 0.025%, which I'l probably dilute 50/50. I have no idea if it does anything, in general the studies are quite meek.

What is the evidence for copper peptides?

Retinol is a weaker form of tretinoin. I've actually read the skin converts retinol to tretinoin so the percentage becomes much weaker than .025.

tricomin actually went through phase 2 FDA studies which showed it was about as effective as 2% minoxidil.

however there was a lot of debate on whether or not the tricomin we buy commercially has as much active ingredient as what was used in the FDA studies. If you search this forum Bryan was involved in many of those debates.

still looking for more opinions on retin-a

I think Retin-A helps. It is v cheap and there's nothing to lose even if it does nothing. At the very least it will keep your temples skin young as it is incredibly ant-aging for the skin.
Don't fall for the more common Retinol. It has to convert to Retin-A in your skin and the conversion varies greatly from person to person meaning it's a hit n miss. Use 0.025% or 0.05% retin-A and keep your head hidden from direct sunlight when you go out.
All the best!

Thanks. How often do you recommend using it?

As often as it suits, and your scalp can take it. I have heard alternate days, an hour before minoxidil is good. I sometimes get flaky scalp from sun exposure which lasts a day or two so generally use it only about twice a week.
