Oh, I was using Head & Shoulders for many years so I guess it's no big deal then, and my rabbit isn't bald either and he washes regularly with Four Paws Bunny Bath Shampoo & Deodorizer lol

Lucky, I've just had a look at your hair transplant pics.

Nice job man, have to say 8)

If the drugs don't work for me after another year, I might think about it. It honestly scares me a bit, and having to walk around like that for 6 months or thereabouts, but those results are pretty impressive.

Cheers Stampede,

I have had a good run till now but the shedding is really worrying, I hope the meds slow down any further loss, all I can do is sit tight and hope for the best, thanks for the positive comments man, I am at an all time low at the mo but I won't go into it

All the best to you!

Shedding is weak hair leaving the body  don't forget that fella!

If finasteride ain't doing the job, you could always be a nutter like me and get on dutasteride. I found the side effects to be lower, despite the reputation.

LOL, I have been thinking of going onto the hard stuff but I will wait till 12 months and see how this shed goes, how are the sides? did you ever try finasteride?

I was on finasteride for 3 and a half months. The sides were, love handles, puffy chest and tiredness. Nothing I couldn't handle though, and nothing that a bit of Arimidex and gym work couldn't sort out.

When my finasteride supplies were running low, I decided to shift things up a gear and get onto dutasteride at the maximum dose (5 pills a day, 2.5mg). My side effects are now LOWER than they were on the 1.25mg finasteride I was taking.

I know that sounds daft, but that's my experience. I think finasteride was doing something else to me apart from lowering DHT, it's the only explanation apart from my dutasteride being fake (I got it from UP and they have a v good reputation though).

2.5mg of dutasteride a day regrew a sh1tload of hair in the trials. And that's what I need, really. The way it's going, I will be completely bald in two years if I don't take pretty drastic action.

2.5mg of dutasteride a day is way out of the safe range dude

Not at all. It was tested with doses up to 40mg/day with no adverse effects. Though i suppose a 2.5mg dose will increase the likelihood of side effects..

Damn, that's 80 pills a day

DHT's worst nightmare  hope he had some blood left in his dutasteride stream...

Have to say reading through this thread and another on a different forum Revita isn't looking too promising so far. Lots of increased shedding and few people reporting regrowth or thickening so far. Maybe it really is too powerful...or just plain detrimental. What do you guys think?

Personally I haven't really noticed any substantial increase in shedding and I think Revita leaves my hair in very nice condition. Also helped to decrease irration on my scalp. That said I doubt it's giving me any regrowth so far- then again I'll never really know since I use so much stuff.

mulder whats the diference between t sal and t gel?

I'm using the Neutrogena T-sal with salicylic acid and piroctone olamine- had to order from the UK. It doesn't have coal tar in it like the regular t-gel. CCS mentioned it and I thought it would be a good choice for a prewash.

I've been on Revita since early August, so like two months. I agree with a lot of the people here that it makes hair thin quite a bit, however, it's obviously a good sign, how many hair loss treatments cause a shed where the hair just goes away? You guys are kinda being wussy in my opinion, just tough it out for a few months or weeks, however long it takes, if you're shedding, something good is going on, seriously folks... :shakehead:

A side note, my hair has definitely been higher quality with Revita, even if I'm shedding like hell.

Yeah like I said, I trashed mine after two months. All the shedding it caused, with no reports of recovery or improvement, no thanks DS. I'll also take a pass at having people look at what appears to be a dildo in my shower! :thumbdown2:

put.the revita.in.the.bin.

I'm coming round to this idea.

It's such a shame when something that *should* work so well just doesn't deliver :(

theres just hardly any positive reports on it. i just found that it felt really artifical and too clogged up with stuff almost like theres too much in it.
