Just spent ages looking throught the success stories and didn't find one person who had used Revivogen, which is really worrying me. I'm about a month in and my hair looks worse than ever.

HAS ANYONE HAD ANY SUCCESS WITH REVIVOGEN????

I am losing hope big time.

Also, keep seeing this 'MSM' - sorry for being dumb but could someone expand on what it is?

Thanks

Ive been doing a lot (probably a 12 months worth) of research into the various treatment options available for male pattern baldness. From what Ive seen the only treatments that work are Finasteride, Minoxidil and Nizoral shampoo. Im about to start a regeime of Nizoral shampoo and Finasteride, Im not going to bother with the Minoxidil because regrowth isnt really what Im looking for, I just want maintainence.
As far as I can tell Revivogen, Folligen, Crinagen, Spironolactone and Tricomin do not work. I havent found any real success stories and the science backing them up is very weak.
Dutasteride would most definately maintain hair and stimulate regrowth but the side affects might be a worry. I certainely wouldnt want to try it.

I replied to one of your other posts about rev - as i said Ive been using it for 9 months now and use it along with spironolactone and cu peptides. The state of my hair looks roughly how it did a year ago (success??) I dont want to call it maintenence in case im just loosing really slowly, (experienced a slow down in daily loss and some thickening) although I have vellus hair growth along the hairline that wasnt there before.

What seems to happen in all the posts I have read about rev is people either say rev doesnt work or that they found some slowing in hairloss early on but no one comes back to really explain what happened . I still have 6 months supply left so I intend to stick it out until then and see whats going on (and feedback on this forum). That will take me past the year mark which means ive given it a proper chance.

If any kind of obvious bald spot starts appearing (as opposed to general thinning that I have) then I'll know im losing ground will have to seriously consider finasteride - if I can maintain like I have in the last year I will be happy.

I have started using MSM - its a supplement that speeds up hair and nail growth - I use 1600mg in tablet form and have noticed my nails grow quicker - not sure about the hair but I just upped my doesage to 2400mg

Hogwash. The science backing them is incredibly strong. Stronger than any of the other unproven products out there on the market today, hands down. In fact I challenge you to find a single unproven product out there with stronger science backing it than this group you've mentioned. If you find it, I will add it to the site tomorrow.

To answer the original poster's question, Revivogen worked for almost all the people we queried who actually stayed on it longer than 6 months. I personally have been using Revivogen, spironolactone, and Nizoral for 3 years and have totally maintained my hairline which was only accomplished prior to that with Propecia by itself.

Cheers Lithebod - yeah you have replied to Revivogen posts i've put here before, and both times you were really the only one (apart from gourmetstylewellness.com administrator), which I guess kinda shows that there aren't many Revivogen success stories being peddled about on here. Obviously i'm gonna stick with it - maintenance would be good, as i'm about 40% worse off since I started it - i'm praying that this was the shed and these hairs will grow back to at least what they were before.

I read the trials here and tried it. I used it for 8 months and it inflamed my scalp. I was often red around the temples. There was a great deal of hair in the sink from using it. I thought a shed was a good sign so I continued using it. But I shed the entire time.

I must be one of the few with a bad reaction to it, and I should have stopped earlier. I was stupid, and thought continuing was the right thing to do. I switched to Fluridil and now my scalp is great and hardly any hair loss. I see maybe two or three hairs in the sink now, when with revivogen there were so many I was afraid to count them. But I’ll probably switch to spironolactone next, since it seems to have more proof/time backing it.

Whatever you use, don’t be dumb like me and keep using it even though it causes redness/soreness.

Hi folks.
my experience with rev
I'll be turning 50 in January, Norwood-2
I've been suffering what i considered hair loss since 18-19
minoxidil for last 5-6 years but hair still falling out, big dandruff periods with really thick dandruff on the crown ( even blood came out scratching my scalp)

I started rev by middle of Sept 2005 and had big sheding for one week (lot of thick hairs fell out) and later hair loss was lowering noticeably.
My hair is still thin ( no miracles) but it's falling out less than before rev.
After just 2 months I couldn't say rev is my solution or not ...I wil keep on using it

I noticed what it seems to be some small hair growth near my hairline
( i hope no remaining of hair line receding  )
By the way, Tricomin AM, provillus (main comp. saw palmeto) 1/day, Rev night, Rev shampoo morning.
Watching spironolactone 5%.

Good luck everybody

How do you use spironolactone and rev? Are they used at the same time, or should one be used first with a waiting period before using the other?

I apply rev first, then wait at least 3 hours for it to be fully absorbed ( thats what the makers of rev reccomend) and then apply spironolactone afterwards. I also apply spironolactone seperately in the morning giving me two applications of spironolactone per day.

I've been using Rev for 9 months and have found that when I apply it, it appears to stop my scalp hairs from hurting. My hairloss started noticeably a year ago, and has progressed steadily since then. No way to speculate on whether this is a slowed rate or not, so I err on the safe side and maintain the treatment. The science behind it seems to be worthwhile. I'm adding finasteride now, which I should have done at the beginning.
