I used it for 2 years: 1 year with spironolactone (plus finasteride and nizoral) and then 1 year without spironolactone (plus finasteride and nizoral).

I did not see any noticeable results so I stopped using it - at the time, my goal was simply to maintain but I felt I continued to lose at the same rate as before. spironolactone seemed to actually increase my hairloss.

In summary, I think some people have had success with Revivogen but I did not...

So are you saying your hair was worse than what it was 2 years after using Revivogen? What do you use now?

"So are you saying your hair was worse than what it was 2 years after using Revivogen? What do you use now"?

Yeah, I would say so, and I used it very diligently, applying it consistently (turned plenty of pillow cases red). I traveled quite a bit and took it with me on all road trips. I continued to lose hair at the same rate so I canned the revivogen. I would have been thrilled with maintenance alone.

As a last resort, I added minoxidil about 2 years ago. I have not had signficant hairgrowth - about the only thing may be some occasional vellus hairs along the hairline. I only apply it before I go to bed (rather than twice a day) so I might see better results if I introduced the twice a day regimen. I tried the foam, but the lemon smell of the foam kept giving me bad headaches...unfortunately, they do not make an unscented foam yet...if they had an unscented foam I would apply the foam in the morning and the liquid at night.

Overall, I think finasteride and the 2% nizoral have helped slow down my hairloss, but I do continue to lose at a slow rate. I have been on finasteride for about 8 years and added nizoral over the last 5 years. I wish I could find a topical that I could simply give me maintenance and I would drop the minoxidil - makes my scalp itch like hell!!

If you want an alternative to Propecia that is topical and will help block DHT, then try Revivogen. For me, I am noticing (1+ months after stopping minoxidil) reduced hair loss and definite regrowth in the temples and hairline.

I fear you will have a shed in your future after stopping minoxidil. Can you not use it at least once a day?

Thx for your concern, but how long after stopping minoxidil does the shedding typically occur? I have been off minoxidil for close to 1.5 months now and there has been no real shedding phase as of yet.

I still notice the new hairs that have popped up in the temples and hairline growing.

maybe those new hairs are growing because their trying to find the minoxidil.

seriously though, i really do hope your sudden results are due to revivogen

How long were you on the minoxidil before you dropped it? If it was for awhile, then I'm afraid you might be seeing a shed in the next month or so.

I used minoxidil continuously for about eight months and stopped about 1.5 months ago. Do you think I will still be seeing a shed, and if so why?

I HOPE you don't get a shed but my gut tells me you will. minoxidil withdrawal can cause brutal sheds for some.
