alright chaps, long time no text-speak :)

I've been on this fricking foam since july last year, about 8 months, and I don't think I've had much in the way of results. Nothing particularly noticeable anyway. For a while it looked like I was getting a little regrowth in my temples, but now I'm not so sure. photographs are "inconclusive" - it's especially hard to tell because I've got 3mm hair length.

I've recently started using it with spectral.rs which (I theorise) will help with absorption, though I may be blabbing sh*t about that. ALL i want is a little regrowth in the vertex area, screw the temples, .... but nothing! I have had no side effects either (no shedding etc). Crap, maybe this foam is fake? Nahhhhhh.... :dunno:

Shall I give it till July this year to give up? Or longer? Or just quit now.

n.b.: I was on finasteride last year, but I gave that up, didn't seem to be doing anything.

foam can be for maintenance too, not just regrowth.

if photos after 8 months are inconclusive i'd call that maintenance - so why drop it?

I was on finasteride almost two years before i got bonafide results with respect to regrowth.

If you are fine with using finasteride (nothing I would usually recommend but you can decide for yourself what is best for you) then from a hair regrowth standpoint it would be wise to use that in conjunction with minoxidil.

because I don't care about maintenance, only regrowth. I don't see the point in simply maintaining "crap"; you've still got sh*t on your hands whether you're holding two logs or one. lol. Personally, I'm not convinced my hair would be much worse if I hadn't taken anything anyway. tbh, I'd rather go bald than buy a couple of years clinging onto weak minoxidil-dependant 3mm hair.

blimey I made that clear eh! valid point though! thanks for replying mate :)

oh, so did you get regrowth from finasteride alone? that's interesting. two years eh ... quite a gamble :/. I don't know about finasteride ... I was on it and I just got this gut feeling it wasn't doing anything. and truth be told, I started to think a lot about the old interfering-with-your-hormones thing ... especially since I didn't think it was doing any good. If I had regrowth with finasteride - wow - different story .. I'd sprinkle it on my steak.

i dont think its made any difference to me either i just use it to thicken my hair now. i havent used it for a couple of weeks cos i havent been bothered to reorder it. my hair does look a bit thin without it but...

enough about me. personally if you dont think its working and youve still got a buzzcut there isnt any point carrying on really. maybe give it a year....? thats what id do anyway.

In my opinion, you have do something about the androgens. I am certainly no expert, and the science on these are lacking (or possibly non-existent in some cases), but I'm throwing these out there.

arnica extract
ketoconazole
retin-A
coal tar extract (LCD)
nettles

flimflam - get on the liquid rogaine asap.

A hell of a lot of people (myself included) end up having more success with liquid than with foam.

i was sat watching the football last night and i found myself thinking about hairloss products.
as you do and i think ill probably keep using minoxidil whilst ive still got a regimen. even if you dont get any significant regrowth from its probably a good thing to be stimulating the blood flow to your follicles and that may make any other products work a bit better. just a thought really. im still gona keep using it once a day i think.

hi guys

thanks for the replies, I did read them when they were posted (not just now!).

basically, i've given up on everything. stopped using all treatments around the time of my last post (end March, beginning April). No shedding or anything like that since then.
