I'm sorry, I know this question has been asked a million times before, and I've read through most of those threads and it always gets a mixed response to this question. So I guess one more can't hurt right?

Rogaine Foam for frontal thinning? Anyone had good/bad experiences with this? I'm not talking about slick bald temples, but the areas behind my temples are very thin and miniaturised now. I'm just looking to get some user feedback.

Most manufacturers of minoxidil seem to explicitly state that it works only on the vertex, either omitting mention of frontal recession or explicitly stating its not for frontal thinning. Why? I know the usual answer is "because the trials were only on vertex thinners" but there must be something more to it than that. The manufacturers must surely have wanted to trial it on the front too, seen as that is arguably even more susceptible to male pattern baldness than anywhere else.

I use the foam for my hairline and liquid for the rest of my scalp. Foam works better on my hairline I think

It does work on the front as well. But once the hairline recedes too far back. It can be very difficult to regrow.

Yeah I'm not expecting anything in the slick bald areas, or for my hairline to move forward. Would be nice to thicken up the miniaturising/thinning area behind my temples though.

you might have 3 scernarios

1) you might not respond to minoxidil in any form be it form or liquid
2) you might respond and have regrowth n thickening
3) you might respond, and have regrowth for a while, and then you stop respond to minoxidil, and lose the gains. thats where i am now.

only way is to try, and see in 4 months if you respond.
