Rogaine or Fluocinolone Acetonide?

I'm a 21-year-old guy and my hair is thinning out and it's balding. It's been this way for a long time now. So I went to the dermatologist and she recommended me Rogaine and Prepocia.

Today my grandmother gave me Prepocia, but instead of Rogaine, I got "Fougera - Fluocinolone Acetonide Topical Solution USP, 0.01%" instead...

I was really looking forward to use Rogaine, and now I have something else that I can't even pronounce...I just wanna know if anyone here used FA and if it's better than Rogaine. They are both used to regrow hair, but what are the differences?

Fluocinolone Acetonide is a topical anti inflammatory drug . Its generally added with a topical antiobiotic or anti fungal cream like miconazole nitrate. Incidently miconazole is reported to show some hair growth properties but Flucocinolone Acetonide has got no role to play. Inshort FA is no rogaine equivalent.

Wow, you used a lot of big words. I wish I knew what you were saying...wait, so you're saying that FA doesn't do hair growth?

When I need Rogaine I go to the Rogaine web site. Join their club and print the coupon. It's for $10 off any Rogaine product (3 month supply I think.) I've printed three thus far. Then I go to Wal-Mart and buy a three pack of foam for 35 bucks. (It is much easier to use than the liquid, at least for me.) Around $12/month. It isn't expensive. This is in the US.

Good luck with your hairloss.
