i started rogaine liquid in may for 3 months then i switched to foam for the remaining 5 months. I decieded to go back to liquid about a week ago and im noticing that my scalp feels tight and sore especially if i massage it. I remeber before on liquid my scalp was peeling and i had itching. Now, i dont have any peeling or itching just this sore and tight feeling. I was just wondering if any1 experieced this or could give me any recomendations on what to do. Im hoping this feeling will pass because i dont want to damage my scalp.

When I first started using the liquid (years ago), I had a lot of flaking and irritation...likely a reaction to the alcohol and/or propylene glycol. However, after a while my scalp became accustomed to the medicine and the irritation went away. My guess is that you're going through something similar.

As a side note, I've not experienced any irritation using the foam.

i experienced no irritation with foam either but i switched back to liquid because i didnt feel like foam was doing anything good, i actually felt it was distroying my hairline and the front of my scalp is where im focusing on. anyways i dont have any irritation with the liquid its just making my scalp feel tight and it kinda hurts (no incredibley painful i can definately ignore it). I remember reading somewhere that the scalp become tighter and less flexible when experiencing male pattern baldness, i just hope the liquid isnt permenantley making my scalp tighter (if thats even possible).

p.s. thanks for the quick reply

Tightness of the skin or scalp is nothing.else than dry skin. Use some good hair conditioner and leave it on your scalp for 5-10 min but make sure its on your skin not only your hair then wash it off. Also, when washing it off, make sure its all gone from your head. Then dry your hair/scalp but never use hairdryer.
Conditioner will help you with dry skin on your scapl.
Do you use Nizoral?
