Hey everyone, just recently started applying RU and have been having decent success with it so far. Far less hair shed in the shower and when I run my hands through my hair. Also noticed a few new black hairs on my hairline popping out. Recently however I stumbled on a post claiming that Ru can cause irreversible heart damage? Was just wondering if there was any validity to this claim cause it has done its job of scaring me into dropping Ru despite my current success.

There is also rumor topical minoxidil causes enlargement of the heart but I've never met or heard about anyone who had that condition because of topical minoxidil.
When it comes to RU, it wasn't fully tested. They were trying it to develop hairloss med but they stoped in the middle of the tests and suddenly dropped everything. Some say it's because it was too unstable and too expensive to continue other say they found something really dangerous about RU.
But again, nobody knows for sure why they stoped testing it.
I don't want to scare you, I know some people from this forum who've been using it for probably 8 years.
I would say do more research before you decide what to do.

"brain fog", what the **** is brian fog? So tired of people complaining about this. When I see this brain fog ****, I Immediately think "oh, that's someone who browsed the Propecia help forums and has a ton of side effects they think they should get stored in their subconscious"

"Brain fog", lack of mental clarity, forgetfulness etc. is actually quite a common occurrence when hormonal fluctuations take place. When taking finasteride it can also be due to 5ARi inhibition and thus lowered allopregnanolone synthesis (neurosteroid and GABA action).
Fluridil is a ok alternative to low dose ru. I've switched between 1 ampule (contains 40mg of fluridil) of that. And 40mg of Ru a few times. Found the fluridil to work just as good. Higher doses of RU outperform it tho. I've never tried a higher dose of fluridil.
I dont know enough about biology/chemistry but if there are ARs on organs like say your heart I dont know if its possible for something like RU to bind to receptors in places it shouldnt be that are not local to hair where you want it. Without studies its really tough to guess at. Someone more knowledgeable though might know that for sure

RU is definitely causing an increase in heart rate for me. 100% conclusive in my mind and pretty drastic.
6 months ago RHR - 50 bpm (regular athlete/runner)
3 months ago (right before starting RU, after gaining 15lbs from injury/not working out) - up to 60bpm
Last three weeks have been monitoring it with stop watch -
During the day / after waking up - 70bpm - not too worrying given weight gain / lack of cardio
AT NIGHT AFTER APPLYING RU LAYING IN BED - 100bpm!!! what the f*ck man!!!

Did you research fluridil.
As I remember it can be quite dangerous.
I have to find again those studies.

I started using RU this week and have noticed heart side effects too. My heart feels 'fluttery' and it made my body twitchy the next morning, even a colleague noticed. I've reduced the dose from 50mg to 25mg (only using on my hairline) so I'm gonna see what happens.
It's pretty scary. Sexual side effects can sort of be tolerated but when it's your heart I feel I have to draw the line. I really hope it goes away otherwise it'd be £100 down the drain.

Even if it goes away there's no guarantee your health will be safe in the long run if you continue taking RU.

I don't know what the hell is going on, because I have been monitoring it every night and it's been fluctuating recently. Last night was normal. Two nights before that, like 100bpm... I will keep an eye on it and keep you updated.

damn buck seems like you can't catch a break with any of these treatments. when you check your pulse is it pretty steady or irregular? are you experiencing any chest pains? ive been on ru for 25 days now and i have not noticed any changes in my HR... my resting HR is 52

Not necessarily, his body would point out there is something wrong going on.
