Hi, simple question about RU.

Would it be OK to do a 5% mixture into Minoxidil? Then you get 50 mg twice daily (since minoxidil is twice daily).

Or should I use a separate vehicle with a 10% mixture, and apply 100 mg once daily?

What would be the most effective?

Thanks

Yes, Kirkland. So could I dissolve 3 grams of RU in one minoxidil bottle to get a month's batch? Would that work?
That would make 5% so applying that twice daily would get you 100 mg / day, right?

Yeah although I would just dose it once a day. Maybe just dissolve like 6% and apply a little over a ml. So I would use one bottle of minoxidil where RU is dissolved and one plain minoxidil if you use minoxidil twice a day. Oh yeah and you need to shake pretty damn hard to dissolve 5-6%.

Hey Swoop, do you have any experience using minoxidil higher than 5%?
Maybe 10% or 15%
What's your opinion on it? worth the effort or just stick with plain old Rogaine?

Higher % minoxidil works but it gave me sides. Heart palpitations and dark circles under my eyes. I've used 5% for years with no sides.

The 15% definitely saved my thinning hairline. I was on finas and 5%minoxidil with great success for almost a decade. Then something genetic triggered and I kept shedding for a year. I switched to 15% minoxidil which also has AA, retinol etc and it really helped. However I suspect it gave me dark eyes as well as the other poster said.

The regrowth was actually better?

No but let me explain it like this. I was maintaining for almost a decade on Finasteride and 5% minoxidil. I had a 100% head full of hair, all of a sudden I started shedding for a year getting thinner and thinner. I had lets say 75% of my hair left. After I started the 15%, the wedding subsided and I regrew a little of what I had lost, say I was now at 85%. I made the percentages up but its to illustrate the point. I never returned to what I initially had but the good news it I regained a little of what I lost. I should say that, its a very very slow process. I know that many companies and people say to give yourself 2-3-4 months but really you should give yourself 6 months and even up to a year. Just think about it to regrow a "non existent" hair from nothing to something visible will surely take more 2-3 months. The only thing that annoys me is the price difference. It costs me 4X more then Kirkland minoxidil 5% but what I do it apply the 15% in the sensitive areas and still apply the 5% in area where Im not so sensitive to hair loss. Ive always told people that we have excellent tools (big three) to prevent hair loss and maintain hair and very poor tools for regrowth. Hence its always best to tackle hair loss early. That is what I did but gosh when your genes kick in even using the big three won't help much.
