Same base

So I was out with a friend and some of his friends on Saturday night and luckily two of them were suffering from hair loss (so I didn't feel like an alien). So this friend's dad (who's like Norwood 5 or 6) took us out for drinks coz he was feeling lonely or whatever (his wife passed away recently).

Anyways so we were sitting in this really congested bar and he accidentally bumps his hand into the back of another guy. He turned back to say sorry and the guy was like "it's ok, same base" while brushing his hand over his NW6 shaved head. I was actually stunned! This other friend who's like an NW3 was also laughing and we all had a look at each other were like yea, same base ... and for that one moment life I was able to feel at terms with my baldness (we were quite drunk)

So does the bald code or brotherhood or whatever you like to call it, actually exist? I've read Larry David say once that whenever two bald men see each other they have that connection or understanding even if they're total strangers. Sort of like I know where you come from and what you've been through. Even if it's just a smile of acknowledgement on the street or something.

What are your thoughts?

Yeah probably. This just isn't isolated to male pattern baldness though its pretty much in any group of people who experience the same type of dieases, illness, handicap, etc. It's being able to relate to another persons experience even if you don't know them personally.

TD500 has nailed it.

I believe Exodus once talked about his experience at a gas station where he got a nod from a bald guy basically saying "I feel ya."

It's bromance.

No, not in my case as to other bald men I am turning what is a cosmetic disfigurement into a "style" by adopting the stereotypical "meathead" look ie sly, big build, goatee, and tattoos. Here in the uk, woe be tide anyone who tries to better themselves, in our cases trying the make the best of a ****ty situation. The only "acknowledgement" I receive off other eggheads is a look of disdain.
