Hello everybody,
I have been using SM for 2 weeks now, and i'm shedding like ever. is it normal? I was under minoxidil for months , I stopped minoxidil and switched to SM, but no results so far , I'm using DMSO + Stemox + 0.15% SM... i'm really hopeless, should i stick to it?
Thank you

I have many years experience in testing hairloss products like a rat:
Oral fina 6 months: worked 100% but huge testo suppression so I stopped.
Topical fina 3 months: same as oral so i stopped
Topical seti for 8 months: it worked 90% but sleep quality very bad, muscle quality as well very bad, and testo suppression so I stopped
CB0301 tested topically: it worked 100% for 3 months then I started shedding + huge brutal testo suppression.. I stopped immediately and it took me 4 months to recover my avg level of testo and libido
just after CB i restarted only minoxidil + microneedling : honestly it works at 70% let's say, the problem hair is growing everywhere, eyebro, shoulder...
and since 2 weeks i started SM and stopped minoxidil: HUGE SHEDDING, I don't know what to do
Thanks

Your shed be because you are coming off of Minoxidil? If you have legit SM04554, I'd say ride it out. I am a bit confused to why you chose DMSO + stemox as a vehicle for SM04554. I know SM04554 dissolves in DMSO but I have yet to see anything about SM04554s solubility in ethanol, pg and water based solutions.

Hi ,
no particular choice, but I tried to dissolve it in everything nothing worked except DMSO, alsmo MUCH DMSO, i even tried to dissolve it in dmso then fill the rest with stemox, you keep it one day then SM solidifies again...
that's why i used to make SM 0.15%
stemox: 35ml
sm 0.09g
dmso : 25ml
I think it is a legit SM as it dissolves only in dmso...
Also i'm not doing only SM+DMSO because dmso is very hard on skin... i even feel it on my fingers...
I'll try more one week then go back to minoxidil, what a pity

And what is the formulation used in samumed trials?

I never tried dissolving it in anything else than dmso, and it seems that samumed's formulation is also based on dmso because vehicle goup had the same side effects - erythema, glazed apperance of the skin.

Anyway, sm04554 works, but if DMSO is the only vehicle option then good luck with that... I never managed to use it more than two weeks because the redness is massive, it dries your scalp and the stinging after application is annoying as hell. I wonder how powerful it is with prolonged daily use.

1. You use way too much DMSO
2. SM should not solidify again after being dissolved in dmso, where do you store it?
3. You want to quit SM after 3 weeks? Stay on it for at least 3 months, ideally 6 months
4. @John Difool has a nice recipe for a vehicle mix for SM, ask him if he can share it with you

3. ok i'll try but i'm shedding as hell i'm losing like 150hairs/day
4. Please @John Difool share with me your vehicule recipe : now i have DMSO, Stemox and minoxidil if I can use that
Thank you very much

I wonder if DMSO is a viable long term vehicle though? Many people complain it being an irritant? Surely Samumed has found another more suitable long term vehicle for the final product?

Hey, i think you are experiencing the infamous shedding you get from stopping minoxidil.

I'd suggest taking both (SM and Min)

Of course not, imagine pouring an industrial grade chemical solvent on your skin for months.... It will probably damage your skin and hair to an extent.

Good news is that sm works really fast and doesn't require sustained use to produce the benefits.

how it works really fast? when i use minoxidil i shed for 1 week then it sustain.
for sm it's been 3 weeks and still nothing...
Could it be an infamous due to the high dosage of DMSO ?

I wonder how their clinical trial participants are fairing, almost an entire year of daily use of DMSO.
