This is a fairly new addition to the biotech teams trying to tackle hair loss. Interestingly one of the researchers is Dr. Sarah Millar, who's also part of the Follica team with Dr. George Cotsarelis. Last year UK Boy from BTT posted a thread about them carrying out a clinical trial in Australia/New Zealand.

It's a topical solution known as SM04554, it is a small molecule and works by activating the WNT pathway.

They had a trial that started back in 2013:
https://www.anzctr.org.au/Trial/Registration/TrialReview.aspx?id=364645

In 2014 they started another trial, this time Phase II:
https://www.clinicaltrials.gov/ct2/show/NCT02275351

In this trial, they're using concentrations of 0.15% and 0.25%.

Some patents published:

http://worldwide.espacenet.com/publicationDetails/originalDocument?CC=CA&NR=2901671A1&KC=A1&FT=D

And I found this with lots of mentions about hair growth including the formula:
http://www.google.com/patents/US20120046320

And this: https://www.google.ca/patents/CA2901671A1

And also this:

Last year swooping made this comment:
I suppose it is either compound 1 , 2 or 3. But can't know for sure.. Compound 2 seems the most strongest from their essay.

Administration and Pharmaceutical Compositions

[0317] Some embodiments include pharmaceutical compositions comprising: (a) a safe and therapeutically effective amount of a compound according to Formulas I, II or III, or its corresponding enantiomer, diastereoisomer or tautomer, or pharmaceutically acceptable salt; and (b) a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier.

Interestingly, with the patent I found above it looks like #1.

Note: Samumed is one of next month's Hair Congress sponsors and Dr. Sarah Millar will be attending.

So we are not hyped about this companie or their results or the fact that they are close to phase III? Why is that?

Because it can be shelved at any time. Only drug guaranteed to come out is Breezula (CB).
Well you could say the same thing then about brotzu or histogen or replicel yet they seem to be more know and expected in forums

Because of the (unfounded at this point) claims of higher regrowth and or being the cure. SM04554 like CB is more or less finasteride without the sides when it comes to maintenance and regrowth, so not much hype.

I personally think that this is a promising treatment. It got 10% regrowth after 3 months which is great, and by all indications it uses a separate and independent pathway, so it may be complementary to other treatments.

But, they have a long way to go, and I don't want to be excited for something coming out in 2021. I dread the idea of still being worried about hair loss in four years.

Hahahahaha. That was me in 2014, I thought that If I used finasteride for a year and then got a hair transplant I will be cured before I got them sides. Now I lost at least 2 Norwoods. If the sideless maintenance cure comes out next year I will be relieved, if not I will be more depressed as I will continue losing hair and my potential donor area. If the cure comes out in 10 years I will be saved b4 it's to late to slay young pussy.

Nah, wtf? I presented you a hypothesis. At 30 you can look the best, sure you will not look like a 16 year old kid you once were, but you can look good as a man in those years. That is when you have a full head of hair.

Also, it's retarded to think that your are already old at 24 or that others are old by that age.
And this topic has gone off the rails, as expected.
