Yeah, I know from experience that minoxidil does stop hair loss. Maybe not for everybody, but neither does finasteride. Minoxidil by itself stopped my aggressive hairloss within a month. And it was BAD, really bad shedding. I was going towards the diffused horseshoe pattern really fast. I'm pretty sure I deleted the before photos I took in disgust.

There are so many factors in minoxidil results. Like I posted in my own thread.... some people may not even be using it right!! You're suppose to put it ALL OVER the NW7 area. If you don't..... yeah you're going to lose hair? You're not applying minoxidil in those spots... Also, how many people can honestly say, and I'm one of them, they've never missed a twice daily application?

Obviously finasteide is superior.... but I'm not buying this "minoxidil doesn't stop hair loss" nonsense. I think the way people use it causes people to still lose hair on min.

Even the "long term" minoxidil studies are confounding..why? How compliant were the subjects? Did they apply it in the NW7 area or just where they were thinning? That's a huge mistake

Minoxidil goes systemic, it's ok to miss an application, and there's no evidence for 2x/day being needed long-term.

If missing a single application meant that minoxidil can't work well then it wouldn't be a good treatment.

I can't see how 1ML of minoxidil twice daily will help my hair loss, to cover my whole head? No way. I have to use 2ml per application, 1ml on crown, 1ml on front/temples. As a matter of fact I have 1 week using 3ml, 1ml on crown, 1 on left hairline/temple, 1 on right hairline/temple. Studies can be wrong, or unfinished. For example, if i'm not mistaken, minoxidil studies only show results of minoxidil 1ml x2 on crown only! If i'm not mistaken, there's no study on how well minoxidil works on the whole head, and if 1ml is okay for the whole head, or you need more than 1 ml if you're gonna do the whole head. If i'm wrong and there actually is a study, will somebody please link me?

OK -- so use 1 litre of minoxidil a day, and drink it orally rather than applying it topically.

I read some instructions that says you have to apply minoxidil 2x a day, 8 hours apart.

Wow, that's a lot.

I never had positive experience with foam. I tried Rogaine foam, Kirkland's foam. I've never been one of those lucky guys to get results from foam. Kirkland's liquid makes my head itch (PPG), but that's the only one i've had results with. Liquid Rogaine, Kirkland's and Lipogaine. I guess the liquid just works better for my head because it penetrates better. Maybe on those that it works, their skin is different and foam works for them.
