Imo samumed actually wants to do something about alopecia unlike most of these other clowns...if any other company had their patent they would cone up with some dumb excuse as to why to delay or shelve it.orrr "hey let's do some more research on it for the next decade because there is a small chance we can get it to grow 2 more hairs per inch"!

agree. Even if SM results were not spectacular it actually grows hairs! that's why they are still in the game. that might even work long term and may grow more and more? who knows? Even if it's not the cure we are looking for It's exciting to see they are moving forward. they would not move onto such expensive phase(3) if they were not certain about their stuff. So that means they could have something really interesting. I can't understand why people keep moaning about the results...

SM04554 is a wildcard, it did decently but not well enough in Phase II so I wonder why they chose to push forward, maybe they slightly changed something? Not complaining though, especially since we would have even another "angle" to attack male pattern baldness.
You guys seem to forget that sm trial was only 3 months of treatment and yielded ~10-13 hairs so who knows the phase three may be longer and yield higher counts bc they confirmed on the biopsy study follicle neogenesis. Cassiopeas at 6 month interim yielded ~20 hairs which was slightly better than finasteride at that time so who knows sm could be worth the hype when looking at the numbers. (Yet again numbers and aesthetics can be two diff things).

Phase 3 can run 1-4 years. So it has potential to be 2020 if everything runs smoothly.

It would be just ducky if Follica and Samumed were colluding however. SM is on Follica's list of patents for use with RAIN.
8%. Not great for those of us who have already experienced a significant amount of hair loss.
But the real question is if it maintains hair like finasteride, or if it eventually stops working as with minoxidil. Anything that can maintain forever without sides is a cure for future generations, even if it's not for us.

Isn’t this treatment meant to work by encouraging the development of new follicles? Therefore constantly improving results after prolonged use? Also, since finasteride and minoxidil have different modes of action, this could compliment them?
