Well, I was 99% sure that I was suffering from male pattern baldness, bt the doctor said that my main problem was lack of some vitamins, since she told me that my hairs not thinning, its falling out, and that I have a very bad scalp condition that worsens the problem, So she prebscribed me propecia, a cortison, vitamin E, vitamin B2, penicillin (antibiotic), And I asked her if I will be able to grow back the lost hair, and she was 100% sure that I would, she sounded alot like my mother when she complained about my terrible diet :p , I guess I should be somewhat relieved now, but something tells me that she's wrong about my hairloss issue, altough She was recommended by Merck here in Sweden

That doesn't make any sense. If she said that you don't suffer from male pattern baldness, then she should not have prescribed Propecia.

She said that I do suffer from male pattern baldness, but it's not the main cause to my aggressive thinning, wich I thought was the only cause, anyway she was sure that I will regrow all lost hair. Anyway, my regime will be the most expensive on earth :p

Reccomended by Merck, eh? No wonder she prescribed finasteride ;P If the hairs arnt thinning, why does she think you have male pattern baldness?

And penecillin? Damn, man, is your scalp is infected?

Sounds like you need to reassess your nutritional intake.

She gave me propecia for my receding hairline (it looks good now but she said that it is receeding), and she says that I suffer from malnutrition, she didn't know exactly what kind of malnutrition, she needed time to figure it out, according to her male pattern baldness is not the largest problem in my case, it's the smallest

I think I may have the same exact problem that you do. I'm seeing the doctor sometime in the near future, hopefully this week. Tell me everyone your doctor told you. My hair is falling out all over my scalp, and the hairs are not thinning they are big thick diamter hairs. They are falling out in non-male pattern baldness places. Please help I think I have the same scalp condition you have.

Does your scalp feel icthy a lot? And do you a lot of dandruf?

I'm interested in this assessment she gave you as well.. I'm 100% positive that i have male pattern baldness.. but i noticed that allot of the noticeable hair i lose is from the side of my head. All of the hairs i lose have a thick diameter as well.

I too was 100% sure I had male pattern baldness, the doctor said that have male pattern baldness since it is very common in my family, but after she took a look at my hair she said that my diet is not very good, and my hairloss is caused bu malnutrition She gave me som vitamins, plus propecia to keep my hairline stady since she said that it have a tendency to move back. And she noticed another thing that accelerated my hairloss, My scalp hade some kind of infection wich explained the enormous amount of dandruff I have, I got some penicillin and a cortison for that, and at last she said, follow this regime and you will grow back every lost hair.

BTW, I'm 18:)

What did your diet or what does it consist of? I think i have a horrible diet and if eating better has chance of helping my hair loss im all about it. I eat out like every day ;\

My diet did'nt include much veggies and fruits, I rarely or never eat that, bad habit, and fast food is dominating my diet mostly, not good at all. The best thing you can do SadSad, is to see a doctor. Only then you can get an accurate diagnose
