Scalp Flaking & Irritation Questions

We did an article on Shedding, but many felt that the issue wasn't completely addressed. We're going to put together an article on the influence of scalp irritation on hair loss.

Tell us what questions you have regarding this issue that still seem unanswered, or not fully explained in your mind yet.

Some we've received so far are:

1. Will scalp irritation caused by products harm the effectiveness of the product, just like scalp irritation does in general?

2. Can scalp irritation speed up the progress of hair loss?

3. Can eliminating scalp irritation and inflammation actually stop some people's hair loss completely for awhile?

.......... any others?

Is the sensation of an irritated scalp a byproduct of the balding process?

Why would areas of the scalp that are thinning be more irritated than areas that are not thinning?

Generally yes. The current theory on male pattern baldness suggests that inflammation of the scalp and follicles is an inherent and deadly part of the process. That is why it is suggested that you use shampoos that control inflammation and perhaps why cooper peptides work on male pattern baldness (if they do).

Folligen.

Also rotate several shampoos on a weekly basis,

My favorites are TGEL, Nizoral and Selsun Blue.

Good luck
