This is awesome. Thanks for being so quick to just jump into this procedure, the forum is rooting for you man! Excited to see what kind of results you get. you might have already mentioned this but are you on any other treatments? I feel like minoxidil + scalp threading could give you great results, maybe even better than the minoxidil / dermarolling study results.
Ive been on big 3 for years, plus dutasteride, so big 4. Also taking biotin daily. Im not changing a thing with my protocol. It hasnt produed any regrowth to date, so moving forward if i see any benefits i will suspect its the threading.

The clinic want to see me back in 8 weeks. So imagine that would be the earliest i would begin to see anything. So its a 2 month waiting game from here on out

I was expecting more inflammation

Do you feel it was completely localized to the scalp or are you noticing any "lifting" to the forehead area? Would you say anything done is invisible to others?

No, i dont see a thing elsewhere and i prob wont. There was no lifting. What i had done should just help w collagen formation. That will take some time to develop.

Is that what the technician told you? If you have done exactly the same procedure as in the study, then the needles in your scalp should also induce wound healing which triggers your body to send growth stimulants to the affected areas, right?

Results aside, I really appreciate your willingness to be open and informative while you try this out.

Thats the plan. Of course the tech only knew any of that by reading the study o threading for hair growth. He is only familiar with what happens on the face and other areas of the body, hes never done this on the scalp before. Whether or not growth factors and such really happens, were about to find out.

I’m very optimistic that you will see results @champpy. There really is something fundamental about wounding an regrowth.

The cool thing about this is that it’s widely available in beauty salons all over the world already. Cheaper than a hair transplant, no scarring and probably superior results.

I really hope you are right. It was do easy too. I didnt need to be numbed and i got the 24 threads inserted in 15 min. It couldnt have been easier to go through, and now an day and a half later my head feels 98% fine.

Things are good. Still have like two spots that are a little tender. It only hurts when i touch my head, like when I wash my hair.
Other than that you would never know that anything was done.
Im honestly a little worried that by spreading out the threading into 3 smaller areas i may have diluted the effect instead of focusing on 1 area, but we will see

Champpy did u ever try dermarolling before ? i would be interested to see if their is any difference compared to that as they have a similar mod of action around wounding i.e is this better or the same ( Dhurat is the author from both studies)

re the 3 small areas, yes interesting question i wounder exactly what the mode of action is ?
At what depth are the needles placed ? is it at the adipose fat layer level ? as i wounder if the mode of action is also related to releasing dermal pressure which allows the adipose fat to grow into and fill this void ? adipose fat has recently been found to signal hair growth in a positive way.
So if that is the mode of action , being one big area would be better than 3 small areas yes.

Has anyone looked into finding someone that does this procedure on the east coast? (between NY and VA)?
Also, do you believe this will help receding hairline (or is it mainly for diffuse thinner since it increases density)?

Thanks champpy for documenting and being a forerunner in this effort.

I did dermaroll. I tried it many many times and never saw any regrowth. I honestly felt like it made it worse. Who knows if i did any damage or not.
The dermarolling i did hurt much worse than the threading. Those needles they use are ultra thin.

Paul ford we don' know yet as for its potential. And good question about an East coast doctor. Hopefully champpy will have results and we can work on getting someone on the east coast to apply this method.
