Researchers in Korea have shown that eunuchs - castrated men living centuries ago - outlived other men by a significant margin.

They say their findings suggest that male sex hormones are responsible for shortening the lives of men.

I thought it had more to do with their exemption from work which involved heavy lifting.

My thoughts exactly. We are witnessing the life spans of women who were commonly stay at home Mothers and were not exposed to the stresses of the working class. More recently we can see that the ages are growing closer together.

My thoughts exactly. While I have no issues being an old person, I certainly don't want to stay that way for a looong time, growing weaker and weaker day by day.
