See Regrowth From 1 Month Of Finasteride Use, Is This Normal?

Been diagnosis with hair miniaturization all over the scalp by a dermatologist 1 month ago, absolutely no family hair loss in 3 generations, still early stage, started on finasteride(1.25mg) + Min(5%) immediately, and trying to manage anxiety and emotional stress (Had a really stressful time before shedding), also, increase magnesium intake since I might have magnesium deficiency(Thanks to 3 months exclusively on food replacement - Soylent, which barely contain any magnesium). Fast forward, just in 1 month, my hair stylist notice my hair become thicker, does this means Finasteride is helping me? Does anybody on this forum have regrowth in 1 month with Finasteride?

I think it is mor the Minoxidil and it is NOT normal to have fast results like this, but neither really unusual.

Never heard finasteride showing cosmetic improvements in just a month, but with Min i have (it tends to work faster and more apparent)

Yes! I got the same haircut as before and my hair looks much fuller under same light condition. Thinning isn't noticeable anymore.

I strongly suspect that my hair loss have something to do with magnesium deficiency, as I said, 3 months on Soylent, which have only 6% DV of magnesium, no other food intake.

Since miniaturization hair loss means Androgenetic Alopecia (Which is highly possible be my case), so I guess another derm will come to the same conclusion. 1 month with regrowth, seems like I'm a very good responder for medication, plus still in early stage, hopefully I will have good result as maintaining my hair.

Yep, if it really is miniaturization.....Hair loss all over the scalp can indeed be stress related. Your choice........

Thanks for the advice, I plan to do a genetic test to see if I have balding gene, if result comeback negative, then other factor is making me loss my hair.

Could also be DUPA?? I don´t know, maybe you don´t really have miniaturization. Just a hint........

I don't think so, the only way ur hair could have gotten thicker is my bew regrowth, which in that time would grow a maximum of 1.25cm, which IMO is not long enough to make any discernible difference in density.

So you suspect my hair started to regrow even before treatment? Interesting. I cut my top hair to 1 inch.
